Welcome to Cherokee Mountain Llama Bed & Breakfast, located within 5 miles of Johnson City and historic Jonesborough - Tennessee's oldest town. The B&B is situated on 10 private wooded and pastured acres offering mountain ridge and valley views from the rockers on the large front porch. Our modern home is situated below Cherokee Knob at about 2300 feet. Cherokee Knob is located in the Cherokee National Forest at about 3217 feet in elevation.
There are many nearby attractions, including the beautiful Nolichuckey River, well known for its white water rafting, and the famous Appalachian Trail.

Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town, offers gourmet dining, guided walking tours, carriage tours, and antique shopping. Jonesborough is also host to the annual storytelling festival as well as the renowned International Storytelling Center.

Charlie and Jennifer Helton Hann retired in 2001 from professional life in Nashville, TN. Charlie was an accomplished handyman and Jennifer was an attorney for more than 26 years. They returned to Jennifer's beloved East Tennessee to enjoy the cooler weather, misty mountains, hiking, kayaking, gardening and animals. They are avid hikers and water enthusiasts who belong to the Tennessee Trails Association and assist as local guides in Jonesborough. They share their 10 acres with 4 dogs, 8 llamas and 2 cats, of whom all live outside. They will be glad to assist with planning your local activities, including local reservations. -

Read MoreFrom I -26 (formerly I-181) , take Exit 31 (State Route 67, Elizabethton and Jonesborough); turn left onto University; proceed approximately 1 mile and turn left onto State Route 67 (Cherokee); proceed approximately 6 miles; turn left on Charlie Hicks Road between mailboxes 3996 and 4000 (Note: we are on a loop road, so check the mailbox numbers). We're 201 Charlie Hicks Road, second house facing Charlie Hicks Road. Our B&B sign is adjacent to our driveway. From Jonesborough:
From Main Street go east on Fox Street. Cross the railroad tracks; follow road to right which becomes Woodrow, and turn left on Cherokee. Cherokee becomes Old Embreeville Road. Proceed approximately 3 miles to first stop; turn left on Greenwood; go about 3/4 mile; turn right on Oliver Edwards Road. This road dead-ends onto Cherokee (Hwy 67). Turn left on Cherokee; go for 1/4 mile; turn at the first street to the right, which is Charlie Hicks Road. We're the second house on right: 201 Charlie Hicks Road. -
Pets Welcome
Read MoreWell-behaved dogs and cats permitted with prior approval. We have a large kennel for outdoor dogs; large closets appropriate for house-trained dogs or cats to sleep in their crate(s). Dogs may run unleased in our woods with their owner & be leashed near the B&B. $25 cleaning fee for entire visit.
