Located just outside Columbia's city limits, Locust Hill is ...
quiet and secluded in Tennessee's beautiful countryside.
A welcoming warmth awaits visitors at Locust Hill, built in 1840 by James T. Moore. According to old newspaper records, the Moores were very hospitable people and frequently entertained.
The present owners bought the house in 1992, upon their retirement from the U.S. Customs Service and began extensive renovations. Locust Hill opened as a bed and breakfast in 1994. In 1997 the renovation of the original smokehouse (Moore Cottage) was completed.Locust Hill has been restored to its former love of entertaining, and you will find it "most hospitable."
Enjoy a book by the fireside from our extensive library, or relax on one of our three porches, in our fragrant flower and herb gardens, or in the new water garden area.
All guest rooms have private baths, queen size beds and sitting areas with upholstered rockers. A full breakfast is served.
A Romantic Evening Package, including one evening stay in the Moore Cottage (the converted smokehouse), dinner for two, gourmet chocolates, either champagne or sparkling cider and fresh flowers, is also available.
