High Prairie Lodge

When you arrive at High Prairie Lodge a Black Hills Bed and Breakfast in Centennial Valley, the past meets the present on our 115 year old farm. As you start to relax and enjoy refreshments you can start to plan a tour in the beautiful Northern Black Hills of South Dakota.

When staying at the Black Hills Bed and Breakfast you are within easy traveling to Bear Butte Mountain, the famous Sturgis Rally, Spearfish Canyon, Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse or go west to Devils Tower and Keyhole State Park.

Breakfast is served at 9 am, but actually starts earlier, with smells reminiscent of Grandma's house drifting through the lodge, tantalizing you to get up and enjoy a very hearty gourmet breakfast before you start your day. I would be happy to pack you a picnic lunch as you take a bike ride on the Mickelson Trial, or an early morning flight to view the Black Hills, golfing, hiking, fishing, boating... the sky's the limit.

In the evening Deadwood is one of the place's to be for fine dining, gambling and dancing. Spearfish has the Black Hills Passion Play, D.C. Booth Historic Fish Hatchery and an eclectic choice of restaurants. End your day around the campfire, on the porch or in the outdoor hottub.

Gourmet Dining

Your day might start with a fuzzy fruit juice cocktail and Applewood poached eggs, tomatoes on bacon and potato pancakes with basil hollandaise or a puffy crab omelet, with blueberry almond coffeecake and fresh fruit with creme fraiche. The grand finale might be a lemon curd tart with chantily cream or poached pears with grand marnier sauce. Lunch or dinner may be ordered in advance for an additional fee. We use only the finest ingredients, organic produce, and exotic meats to provide food that nourishes your body in a special place that lifts your spirits and restores your soul.

Guided Hunting & Fly Fishing Excursions Dave Ciani of High Prairie Outfitters is a member of the South Dakota Outfitters Association and many wildlife organizations. An excellent caller, tracker and teacher, Dave has a degree in Fish, Wildlife and Parks and has extensive work and education experience in wildlife management. Hunt various locations in South Dakota for pheasant, sharptail, prairie chicken, grouse and turkey. Bow hunts are available for turkey, elk and deer. Have fun hunting the big waters in a heated 21' river Jet Sled with a blind. Or you can hunt divers, geese and mallards in a layout boat. Dave specializes in guiding first-time hunters, children, families and persons with disabilities.
