The purpose of this Association is to set and maintain high standards or quality, guest safety, and professionalism in the organization and to ensure a quality lodging experience for guests staying in BBISD Inns. It is also our goal to provide educational resources to increase member knowledge of the industry, to share ideas and to actively communicate with other BBISD members in relation to the Bed and Breakfast Industry. We support the membership through collective action with state and local regulatory agencies. We promote and exchange marketing and promotional ideas among members to encourage an active interest and participation, understanding and goodwill toward Bed & Breakfast Inns.

Covering the southeast corner of the state, member bed and breakfasts are located in the towns of Madison, Sioux Falls and Yankton.

In this region many historical small towns offer interesting local cover along the prairie roads. Two main thoroughfares, I-29 and I-90, enter South Dakota through this region. Tour the cascading water falls in the state’s largest city, Sioux Falls; scenic Dells and quartzite quarries, or Lewis & Clark Lake offering great walleye fishing and other watersports. Mitchell’s Corn Palace is another point of interest.

Discover the gentle rolling hills in eastern South Dakota giving way to sparkling glacial lakes which offer endless fishing opportunities.
