  • Introduction

Dacha Bed & Breakfast - Forbes, North DakotaWelcome to the Dacha Bed and Breakfast! Dacha is a Russian word meaning "Country Home." We invite you to be our guest and enjoy a continental breakfast in the quiet of your room, or ask about "upgrading" your stay with a home cooked meal served in our dining room.

We are located in Northeast South Dakota along the state line between North Dakota and South Dakota. Abundant fishing and hunting opportunities are available nearby in both states.

We are "VERY" rural and not the "usual" B &B in a tourist area. Many of our guests are outdoor sportsmen who enjoy hunting & fishing. We have people who come for church group retreats, whether they are ladies, men’s or kids' groups. Some groups come for in depth bible studies, church planning committees, or just for the fun of it! We also get a lot of people who do contract building in the area. Some of our gustes are a couple of friends who just want to spend time together with nothing really to do except strengthen their relationships, or families that are having reunions in the area. We also have guests who just want to do "nothing”, and come here to get away from their busy life to just relax. Our area is so peaceful, and since there are really no tourist attractions, our guests just enjoy spending time with family, reading, or exploring the outdoors. This is the only lodging for 25 miles, so in some ways we have nothing, and in other ways we have everything…..what we do have is “Peace.”

So, come spend some quiet time with your spouse, get re-acquainted with friends or family. Relax after enjoying a day of hunting or fishing... or maybe just come and read a good book!

"Continue to love each other with
    true Christian love. Don't forget
    to show hospitality to strangers
for some who have done this
    have entertained angels without
    realizing it!"

    Hebrews 13:1-2

  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Joelle Johnson for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Although we do not provide land to hunt on, Hunters love staying here because it is like home…only better! We also get many church groups because of location, also we have enough beds to accommodate larger groups. Or Couples come here to just unwind from their busy lives.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

The peacefulness of our place best answers all 3 of these questions!

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    Family

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

There are so many it is hard to choose! But the ones that are so precious to me are when I get a thank you card in the mail or a picture drawn on a paper from children who have stayed here with their parents, what a blessing it is to know that a child knows and understands that they are welcome and that we are excited about them being here too!

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    The peace.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Spending time just being at ease without all the hustle bustle of life!

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Nature.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We only have 1 restaurant close but it is a very good “home town” café. You should also know because of our rural location you will need to fill up with gas before you come here as the nearest gas station is about 20 miles away!

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have 6 rooms, but because of the uniqueness of our room sizes and bed spaces, we can accommodate approximately 26 guests.

    Do you accept pets?

Pets are a big part of our hunting clientele. Although we do not allow pets in the rooms, we do have a dog dorm in our barn where they can stay as long as they are kept in their kennels. They can also stay in our garage if you like them a little closer to you.
