Flowertown Bed & Breakfast
Table Of Contents
Built in 1889, this three-story Victorian house offers four elegant guest rooms with queen sized beds, private baths, fireplaces, and central heat and air conditioning. Two of the rooms also feature daybeds to accommodate additional guests.
Each room is tastefully decorated with an elegant blend of French and Southern styles, and connects to a bright and spacious breakfast room and sitting parlor. Beautiful southern porches are garnished with collections of exotic bonsai trees, all overlooking landscaped gardens and a lighted, plant-filled pond complete with Japanese Koi. The finishing touch is a great six-foot iron cage inhabited by our resident white cockatoo, Shakespeare, and a very talkative African Grey named Max.
In the mornings, guests may take their breakfast in our bright and spacious Breakfast Room. The meal includes a range of cereals and grains, pastries and muffins, and a variety of fruits. Additionally, guests can enjoy coffee, tea, milk, and juices. Breakfast is typically served between 7:30 and 9 a.m.
The Tea Nook offers a palce for guests to sit and relax, and perhaps chat with other visiotrs or the proprietors of the Bed and Breakfast. We are pleased to offer a networked laptop computer for complimentary guest use, in addition to the wireless access available in each guest room.
For our many business travelers, each room is equipped with a telephone and wireless internet access. We also have a public laptop, discretely nestled in the tea nook, available for checking internet mail. A fax machine is accessible downstairs upon request.

Located in the historic district of Summerville, we are across from the quiet, charming azalea park. And within walking distance of fine restaurants, antique shops, and specialty and clothing boutiques. Downtown Charleston is a twenty minute drive away. Locally, there are many golf courses, beaches, lakes, historic gardens, and plantations. There is also horseback riding, canoeing, and tennis. There is also a theater company - The Flowertown Players - to provide entertainment for the whole family
Two piazzas with outdoor seating and bench swings overlook the front and back gardens. Please view some photos of the beautiful outdoor areas, which the owners lovingly created and tend themselves. One specialty is the vast collection of Japanese bonsai trees, the art of which has been practiced by one of the owners for over twenty years. Also cultivated are an extensive herb garden and many French-styled flower gardens. Some of the more exquisite touches you will find include a beautiful ivy-covered portico, a lush Koi-filled lighted pond, and hand-crafted benches and fountains.
