    The Formal Dining Room

Here in the westernmost part of Pennsylvania sits one of the most elegant, romantic properties in the United States. How it came be, mirrors the story of America -- its triumphs, its periods of defeat and struggle, and most important, its vitality and offer of second chances. A few years ago, the mansion built by steel magnate Frank H. BuhlJames E. Winner Jr., a dirt-poor farm boy from nearby Transfer, Pa., had made a fortune inventing the Club, a device to prevent car thefts. He loved the town of Sharon and agreed to save one of its most precious historic assets. Today, some millions of dollars later, the Buhl Mansion has returned to its original glory. Whatever it is they've spent, they've done Sharon, and those who stay there, a major favor. ~ Cindy Loose, The Washington Post

The LibraryJim and Donna Winner both began life on simple Mercer County, PA dairy farms. From those roots of hard work and commitment came two people driven to succeed in business and give back to their community. As the man behind "The Club", the automotive anti-theft device, Jim Winner has aggressively launched a campaign to bring more jobs and better quality of life to the residents of his native Mercer County. He has recreated much of the Shenango Valley's lost steel industry, therefore giving tribute to the benefactor of the Buhl Mansion, Frank H. Buhl. Winner International, Winner Steel, Winner Aviation, and the restoration of the old Westinghouse plant have been among Mr. Winner's contributions to the Shenango Valley industrial economy. The Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa is now one of America's top-rated Bed & Breakfasts. The 10 spectacular guestrooms and the full service spa pay tribute to Mrs. Winner's talented designing skills and her unparalleled dream of exceeding every guest's expectations of luxury and service.
