  • Introduction

The Lexington House is a superior Bed & Breakfast located in the wonderful town of New Hope in historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Lexington House has designed its entire guest experience around two main themes: ELEGANCE and LUXURY. We provide a unique and serene environment for you to enjoy.

We have six guestrooms in our circa 1749 main house, each with private bath and air conditioning. Although elegantly decorated and filled with antiques, we are casual and relaxed. We want you to feel as if you are visiting an old friend at their luxurious country estate.

The Lexington House sits on 4 beautifully landscaped acres, five minutes from the center of New Hope, and boasts the 1749 main house, a carriage house from the same period, and a pool complex built in the ruins of an old stone barn.

In addition, there are several interesting outbuildings, including:

    • A Stone Springhouse, where the early settlers took advantage of the cold water rising to the surface to keep their dairy products cool. They arranged the stone floor to divert the water around the inside walls of the springhouse, and would keep crockery filled with milk, butter, etc. in the cold spring. There was at one time a second floor where they would churn the butter and store some vegetables.
    • A Stone Smokehouse, where meats would be cured for storage over the winter. Two small windows were added at some time in the past, and this building is now serving a very useful purpose as a toolshed (and a favorite backdrop for our guests' photo opportunities).
    • A Small Red Barn with Loft
    • A Large White Corn Crib Barn.

    2 Fabulous Pools with Waterfall!

A fabulous pool area awaits your enjoyment during the warmer months. A two-level pool, complete with waterfall, has been built amid the ruins of an old stone barn. Jagged stone walls enclose the pool area. The upper pool is designed for sitting and wading, and it splashes in a waterfall into the large main pool below.

Virtually everywhere you look in the pool area, you will see completely natural materials, and this contributes to the illusion that you have stepped into a natural (but impeccably well-designed) oasis. Flowers and plants grow in beds cut into the slope between the upper and lower pools, and lush potted plants abound.

Comfortable chaises and chairs ring the pool, and let you enjoy an afternoon of swimming, sunbathing, and socializing.

    Sumptuous breakfasts!

Breakfast at The Lexington House is a special affair. Each morning, we have coffee ready at 7:30 for the early risers. We offer a combination hot and cold buffet breakfast, including home-baked breads and muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurt and one hot entree (Banana French Toast, pumpkin pancakes and California Casserole are just some of the selections) from 8:30 until 10:00.

We always have homemade snacks for our guests, as well as a variety of sodas and water.

  • Business Meetings at The Lexington House

  • Area Information

The beauty of the landscape caused artists to flock to Bucks County in the early part of the last century.  The sleepy river town of New Hope began to grow and evolved into a versatile "melting pot" of personalities where "difference" is revered and respected.  Framed by the Delaware River and the old Easton Canal, New Hope's broad scenery ranges from fishing boats which dot the water, to duck ponds and deer-filled woodlands, to horse farms on the outskirts of the hills, which blaze with color in the Fall.

Activities in our area include camping, rafting, canoeing, horseback riding, golfing, and tennis.  Special events include the New Hope Antique Car Show, Winter Festival, New Hope Art Show, Shad Festival, and the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Of course, they are all in addition to the legendary shops, galleries, and antiques of New Hope, Peddler's Village, and our "sister city" across the Delaware River, Lambertville, NJ.

  • Directions

We are located at the corner of Upper York Road (Route 263) and Aquetong Road in New Hope, Pennsylvania, in historic Bucks County. Our driveway entrance is at 3005 Aquetong Road.

From New York City (approximately 70 miles):

Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Route 78 West. (If you are coming from the George Washington Bridge, or the Holland Tunnel, or the Lincoln Tunnel, you want NJ Turnpike South. If you're coming over the Goethels Bridge, you want NJ Turnpike North.)

Follow Route 78 West to Route 287 South.

Exit to Route 202 to Flemington, New Jersey. (There are multiple exits for Route 202 off of Route 287; take the exit that indicates To Flemington, #17. If you get off onto 202 too early, you'll still get here, but you'll go through towns and traffic lights.)

Follow signs for Route 202 South to New Hope exit and Delaware River toll booth. Once you come over the toll booth (75 cents), ignore the signs that say "Route 32, New Hope". (This would take you through the center of town, which is not necessary.) Simply stay on Route 202 South after you come through the toll, and after approximately 3 miles, make a right turn at the traffic light onto Aquetong Road.

Drive just over a mile to the stop sign, cross over the intersection (right, then quick left; in other words, stay on Aquetong), and make the first left into our driveway. Park near the barns; the B&B is the big house at the bottom of the hill.

From Philadelphia (approximately 30 miles) or Washington, DC (approximately 170 miles):

Take I-95 North to New Hope, Exit 51 (was previously Exit 31). Turn left at bottom of exit ramp onto Taylorsville Road. After 5 miles, turn left at stop sign onto Route 32 North.

Go 4 miles to the center of New Hope. At the traffic light in the center of New Hope, make a left onto Route 179 (also called West Bridge Street).

Follow 179 for two more lights, and make a left onto 202 South.

Take 202 South approximately 2 miles, and make a right turn at the traffic light onto Aquetong Road.

Drive just over a mile to the stop sign, cross over the intersection (right, then quick left; in other words, stay on Aquetong), and make the first left into our driveway. Park near the barns; the B&B is the big house at the bottom of the hill.

    From Pennsylvania Turnpike

Get off at the Willow Grove exit and take Route 611 North. After about 15 minutes, take 202 North and follow past Peddler's Village to Aquetong Road (traffic light at intersection). Make a left onto Aquetong Road.  Drive 1 mile to stop sign, cross over the intersection (right, then quick left), and make a left into our driveway.  The path to the guest house is located to the right of the red barn, by the pool entrance.

If you use GPS navigation, please use 3005 Aquetong Road as your final destination.
