Our home was built in 1933 for C.W. Richmond, a dentist, and his wife Sara. Dr. Richmond began his dental practice in New Holland in 1927. Upon his death (1975) the bulk of his estate created the Richmond-Pennock Family Scholarship Trust Fund for graduating students at Garden Spot High School.

The house is a large stone and clapboard country cottage home with random width oak-pegged floors downstairs and random width pine upstairs. Throughout the home all the doors have wrought iron hinges and door latches. Several Dutch doors lead to outside patios or porch areas.

Beamed ceilings highlight the living room and dining room. The living room is dominated by a large stone fireplace that is wonderfully cozy on cool evenings while watching TV, reading, playing games or sharing lively conversation. The large gracious dining room is brightened by a crystal chandelier and crystal wall sconces. Enjoy a hearty country breakfast before you start your day of sight-seeing, antiquing or shopping in beautiful Amish country. The patios off the living and dining rooms can be enjoyed dining al fresco or by just relaxing, reading, conversing or viewing the gardens.

Flowers, shrubbery and ornamental trees surround the rugged stone home which adds to its cottage feel, while a wishing well on the edge of the property beckons of an age gone by. The second floor has four beautiful suites decorated with country cottage charm. There is a secluded covered porch in the rear with rocking chairs.

We are conveniently located in the heart of "Dutch Country" in Eastern Lancaster County and are within 15 to 30 minutes of all the major Lancaster County attractions. We hope to entertain you as our guest on your next visit to Lancaster County. Stop in to see us.

"I'm not sure how many B&B's we have visited over the years, but the Richmond House Bed and Breakfast in New Holland, PA. is our favorite. The food is beyond compare, the friendliness of the innkeepers, Tim and Dolores, and their knowledge of the surrounding area is top notch, and the rooms and appearance of the Home and landscape is breathtaking throughout the seasons. Although we have stayed here several times, we have never had the same breakfast twice! Each new morning brings with it a flavorful surprise from in-season fruits to specialty menus that will leave you asking for more, but not being to fit any more scrumptious food into our expanding frames. The common areas are always filled with lively conversations from the guest with helpful input from the owners. As we travel to other areas of these United States, we find ourselves comparing those other B&B's with the Richmond House. So far, we have not found an equal. Once you stay here, you're hooked!" ~ Salem, VA
