Dorset Guestroom

This charming, light-filled room is decorated in soft green and rose Waverly chintz fabrics, providing a cozy atmosphere for your weekend getaway in Marietta, PA. Two antique pineapple-post twin beds face the working fireplace with its original federal woodwork. The room’s TV & DVD rest upon an antique lowboy and a comfy velvet rocking chair sits next to a cherry chest. The huge window overlooks our historic inn's English garden and views of the Central Pennsylvania hills on the far side of the Susquehanna River. In the winter months, when the leaves are off the trees, this room affords a view of the river. The Dorset's private bathroom is just two steps away outside the bedroom. This bathroom features an oversize corner shower, a classic pedestal sink, warm carpeted floor and is decorated with a floral dogwood theme. The Dorset may be rented with either two twin beds for $125 per night or with a king size bed for $145 per night.

Surrey's Luxurious Bathroom

The Surrey is a lovely and spacious 2nd floor suite running the depth of the house. Its front facing windows overlook two of the oldest homes in town. With its carved queen-size four-poster bed, traditional cherry furniture, an antique low-boy, bed steps to reach the high bed, a decorative fireplace with original moldings and floral Robert Allen fabrics, this guestroom provides relaxing accommodations for your next weekend getaway in Pennsylvania. The enormous luxury bathroom overlooks Ascot House's English garden. The bathroom has a two-person Jacuzzi bathtub that faces a working fireplace, a separate oversize shower and double sinks. Larger than most peoples bedrooms, this blue and white striped bathroom, with Italian tiled floor, provides a memorable spa-like experience. Room rate per night is $175.

Bedford Guestroom

The Bedford Suite is the largest and most luxurious of all the rooms available at this Lancaster County lodging. The Bedford is an elegant, extremely comfortable and spacious suite. The mahogany king size bed has classic plantation-style carved posts. Steps are provided to climb into this exceptionally high bed with its snowy white matelasse coverlet and floral Waverly chintz skirt. There is an oversize wing chair next to the decorative 18th century fireplace and a TV and DVD player. In the sitting area there is a queen size sleep sofa and a marble topped coffee table facing the working fireplace. The sunny floral chintz theme continues into this part of the suite and is echoed in the panels of the built-in armoire.

The lovely and comfortable bathroom is down three steps from the sitting room and features an oversize whirlpool tub, vanity and separate shower. One of the windows overlooks the veranda. The Bedford is an ideal honeymoon suite, and, with its sleep sofa, can accommodate up to four guests. There is a connecting door that can be unlocked to join with the Essex Suite. The two suites combined are suitable for up to eight people, making it perfect for family reunions and wedding parties. Room rate per night is $185 for up to two people. Add $25 for each additional person.

Norfolk Guestroom

The Norfolk is an extremely large comfortable room, with wonderfully soothing cream and beige Waverly Toile fabrics. The room has a king-size bed with padded headboard. The sitting area has a queen-size sleep sofa, large TV, DVD & VCR player, additional seating and a working fireplace with original federal woodwork. The Norfolk is a delightful retreat for two people. However, if you are planning a weekend getaway in PA with friends, this room also can accomodate an additional two persons by using the sleep sofa. The adjoining private bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub with an integral shower and pedestal sink. Room rate per night is $170 for up to two people. Add $25 for each additional person.

Essex Guestroom

With its separate entrance and veranda overlooking the patio and neighboring gardens, the second floor Essex Suite is reminiscent of the bachelor's apartments in New Orleans French Quarter. This pretty two-room suite is decorated with classic Laura Ashley fabrics in shades of blues and yellows. The Essex Suite has a queen size bed with padded headboard. The sitting room has a working gas fireplace with original 18th century moldings, comfortable love seat and chairs and its own a/c unit. Each room has a French door that opens onto the veranda with its outdoor chairs and side table. The suite has a bath tub with integral shower. An inviting alternative to typical hotel lodging while visiting the York, PA area, The Essex makes a delightful romantic retreat, it is also one of the dog friendly suites. Room rate per night is $205.

Suffolk Guestroom

The Suffolk Suite reflects the comfortable elegance found throughout our historic B&B. The queen-size, mahogany plantation style four-poster bed is accented in black and cream Waverly fabrics. The room has an armoire with TV & DVD player, a bachelor's chest with a pull-out shelf and a large wing chair that sits beside the decorative fireplace. For the business guest, ample working space is provided along with high-speed internet access. The Suffolk's spacious bathroom has a two-person Jacuzzi tub that faces a working fireplace making this suite especially romantic. This spectacular bathroom has an Oriental rug over the traditional Pennsylvania painted flooring. A separate two-person shower, marble sink and large vanity complete the room. • Check Out: 11 a.m. (other times may be possible by prior arrangement)
• Deposit: One night paid in full check, or credit card.
• We accept Visa, M/C, A.X, & Discover.
• Cancellation-Refund Policy: A full refund will be given if the cancellation is made 14 days prior to scheduled check-in. Cancellations made 7-14 days prior to scheduled check-in will receive a 50% refund of the deposit. Deposits for cancellations less than 7 days prior to scheduled check-in will be forfeited.
• Smoking: Ascot House is a non-smoking facility
• Dog Friendly Pet Policy - Dogs Stay Free! There is a beloved Golden Retriever who lives in the owner's quarters at this Pennsylvania accommodations. Ascot House is a pet friendly bed and breakfast where well-behaved dogs of all sizes are welcome. We do, however, have a few pet policies:
  • The Suffolk, Surrey and Essex rooms are the only rooms available for pets
  • Dogs must be leashed when walking through the common areas of the inn
  • Unattended dogs must be crated
  • Pet bedtime treats provided
  • Loaner bowls, towels and leashes available
  • A fenced back yard is available and the dog owner is responsible for clean-up
  • Riverside trails and parks nearby
  • Because pet accidents are not always immediately visible, a fully refundable security deposit of $100 is required and will be returned within 2 days of your stay if there is no damage
  • Regretfully, barking dogs (and their owners) will be asked to leave if they disturb the other guests
  • Dog Sitting Available - $10 per hour
• Cats & Other Critters: Sorry, but we can only accept dogs. There are boarding facilities nearby. Call for information.
