Whether you are traveling to Pennsylvania or just thinking of getting away from it all, The Garden House Bed & Breakfast offers the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Hosts Paul and Loretta Simmons will do everything possible to see that your stay is pleasant and memorable.
The Garden House Bed & Breakfast is decorated in a eclectic, fresh, country-garden style with period antiques, creating a cottage motif. This romantic gem turns a whole new leaf on country with a casual-friendly atmosphere. The Garden House B & B is small, intimate and charming, offering our guests the opportunity to be truly relaxed in a private setting. The room rates are quite desirable and our delectable breakfast is whenever you choose. You'll love the sitting rooms and parlor, the wrap around front porch, and the garden. We can provide for any special dietary needs or requests for breakfast. Please don't hesitate to ask. We have two kitties (not allowed in the guest rooms) very friendly and entertaining.
Your stay at The Garden House Bed & Breakfast always includes a delicious country or European full breakfast. Selections from our cozy kitchen will make you happy and prepare you for a terrific day of sightseeing in the picturesque York County. During your stay, you are welcome to arrange for afternoon tea. The Innkeepers:
Paul is from England, where he managed a popular English pub called The Black Horse.
Loretta, originally from Italy, received her chef training by working in her family's fine restaurant, "Calise," on the beautiful island of Ischia in southern Italy.
They previously ran Pals, a catering business in Columbia, Maryland and have been involved in the hospitality field for some time.
The Garden House Bed & Breakfast is an ecologically friendly Inn. we try our best to maintain the wildlife in our gardens and to invite new wildlife in. The Garden House is registered with The National Wildlife Federation as a small city Wildlife Habitat Garden.
We serve organic food whenever possible.
We use no chemicals or fertilizers in our flower beds, lawn or vegetable garden or in our home.
We use "Black Gold" compost and our grass has weeds but great for bees.
We provide food, shelter and water for the many varieties of birds that visit our feeders,
We plant native trees, shrubs and flowers to encourage butterflies, bees and hummingbirds to prosper here.
We recycle everything we can, conserving water and energy is important to us.
We are always looking for new ways to improve our habitat and protect our environment. -

- Follow sign to Manchester (4 miles).
- At fourth traffic signal turn right on Rt.921 east, Maple Street.
- Continue on for approx. 1/2 mile.
- The Garden House will be on the left at the junction of Hartman Street.
- Turn left onto Hartman Street and left again by the white carriage barn to the parking area.
From I-83 south take exit 24, Emigsville, Rt.238.
- At traffic signal turn left and proceed approximately, 1/2 mile to junction N. George St., Rt.181.
- Turn left onto N. George St. and proceed approx. 2 miles to traffic signal, Rt.921 east, Maple Street.
