Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Ed and Stephanie Hersh for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
Most people stay at our B&B because of the personal service and a desire to connect with the local people of our region.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We love the variety of people who visit our area and the many topics of conversations we enjoy with guests at our inn. Our inn is different than many in that we welcome entire families with children of all ages and our accommodations cadre to families. We make the breakfast time a focus by serving as much homemade and garden grown foods as possible. Another unique option is the host's pastoral counseling availability for marriage enrichment, personal retreat, debriefing, and stress management.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
Lancaster County is known for its religious and family-oriented heritage. Many Amish country attractions highlight the plain living. The Sight and Sound Christian Theater also attracts millions of people to its shows.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
We like first-time inn goers who say this was their most favorite lodging experience ever, and they want to return to the area just to stay with us again.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Costs are reasonable compared to many areas, and there are so many different kinds of things to do. For example, Lancaster has a very large arts community with many art galleries in the city.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
The choices are almost endless. There is enough to do within 30 miles for the entire 4 days, but we are also within several hours drive of New York City, Washington D.C., Baltimore MD, Harrisburg/ Hershey PA, Gettysburg PA, the east coast shore points, and more.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Yes, a community park with walking trail, grocery store, convenience stores, restaurants, massage and wellness, beautiful university campus, farms and more.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
Lancaster is known for its family style and smorgasbord PA Dutch restaurants.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference? How many rooms does your inn have?
We have 3 suites. Two of them can accommodate an entire family.
Do you accept pets?
We accept well-behaved pets in one of our suites, pre-arranged at reservation time.
