Daryl Hall & John Oates at Giant Center 13 Apr 2015, 7:00 am

DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES

GIANT CENTER

HERSHEY, PA

We all know and love them as Hall & Oates. Ironically, the duo has never liked nor used that moniker.. “From the very beginning. People never note that. The idea of ‘Hall and Oates’, this two-headed monster, this thing, is not anything we’ve ever wanted or liked.”

Both Daryl and John hail from right here in the Keystone State, achieving their greatest fame from the late 70’s to the mid-80’s. Both also play a wide range of instruments with Daryl taking the part of lead vocalist, while John provides back up. Notable hits include Rich Girl, Kiss On My List, Private Eyes, Maneater, I Can’t Go For That, Out Of Touch and Sara Smile…all Billboard Hot 100 number 1 songs on the charts.

In April of 2003, the pair was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame..last year they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well-deserved honors, both.

Look for their latest release… Their first box set, Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music of Daryl Hall & John Oates. The four CD set contains a total of 74 tracks.

Indian Echo Caverns in Hummelstown, PA 19 Mar 2015, 7:00 am

INDIAN ECHO CAVERNS

HUMMELSTOWN, PA

We’re right on the cusp of gorgeous warmer weather, but we don’t have to wait to experience some outdoor activities. As a matter of fact, this attraction is open year round with the exception of major holidays, and offers so much to see and do..

Among many names previously given to these caves, Wilson Cave is one of the most memorable. Known for William Wilson who for nineteen years lived as a hermit (known as the Pennsylvania Hermit) there.

As with many of the caves in the Mid-Atlantic states, water flowing through limestone worked its artistry and formed these beautiful caverns. Nature’s thermostat sees to it that the caverns remain at a constant 52 degrees.

You can visit their website for more fun activities and find out more about the guided tours.

Open: Seven days a week, closed for major holidays

Hours: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Year Round, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM – Memorial Day – Labor Day

Admission: $16 for Adults, ages 12 and over, $14 for Seniors, ages 62 and over, $10 for Children, ages 2-11 and Carried Infants are FREE.

Laff Trakk at Hersheypark, Experience it! 16 Mar 2015, 7:00 am

LAFF TRAK

HERSHEYPARK

By now you’ve heard about…maybe even read about it. But did you know about the contest Hersheypark is running? The one where YOU could be one of the very first to experience the Park’s newest ride?

If you’re like the rest of us, nice weather cannot come soon enough. And if you, like so many others, are a huge roller coaster fan (we know of a particular Innkeeper/owner who fits this category!)…then you are waiting with great anticipation for the opening of Laff Trakk.

Advertised as the “First Indoor, Spinning, Glow-Coaster in the United States”….almost a funhouse of roller coasters, Laff Trakk will be the 13th coaster in the park. To celebrate, Hersheypark is offering a chance for you to be one of approximately the first 100 people to be invited to an exclusive pre-ride glow party before your first ride on Laff Trakk. They open the entry process the 13th of each month through May 2015.

Check with the website for more information about how you can enter.
