Wishing You A Happy Thanksgiving From The 1825 Inn 26 Nov 2015, 2:00 am

THE 1825 INN

It would seem the perfect time of year to take a brief time out to thank all our guests and friends for a wonderful year..

We have met those from near and some from very far, who have made us smile and laugh and even shed a tear or two.. we have been touched in so many different ways and been genuinely grateful to have crossed paths..

For all those moments, we are thankful and would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.  And, as many do these days, if you are traveling to loved ones…we wish you a safe journey.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wizards of Winter, Whitaker Center at the Forum 23 Nov 2015, 2:00 am

The perfect fusion of classical and progressive rock music…this is Wizards of Winter.

This eclectic group of musicians from Metro NY, NJ and PA came together in 2010. Their vision was to faithfully reproduce the music of TSO (the Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and present it in a more intimate setting. The group’s disclaimer: it is not a TSO tribute band; you will hear only a few TSO songs during this show. In 2011, the Wizards released their own Christmas Rock Opera album which had its basis in entirely original material. They’ve had the pleasure of touring with four original members of TSO (Tommy Farese, Tony Gaynor, Joe Cerisano and Guy LeMonnier); LeMonnier joined the band permanently in 2014.

This year’s holiday rock opera, Tales Beneath a Northern Star,  is based upon music from their self-titled CD and their new album, The Magic of Winter.

Holidays with The Manhattan Transfer at the Whitaker Center 19 Nov 2015, 2:00 am

Wonderful news that the smooth jazz and R&B sounds of The Manhattan Transfer will be decking the halls of the Sunoco Performance Center at The Whitaker Center…soon.

This group has had several incarnations, all under the leadership of the late Tim Hauser. The first manifestation was back in 1969, enjoying moderate success. Fast forward to 1974 when the present-day group was formed. They quickly developed somewhat of a cult following and were signed by Atlantic Records. This version of the Transfer recorded the album “The Manhattan Transfer” (in 1975) which included their first successful single, “Operator”. The summer of 1975 also saw them starring in their own television variety show on CBS.

Enjoy a holiday evening with this unique vocal quartet. You can read more about them on their official website.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical 5 Nov 2015, 2:00 am

A wonderful and heartwarming way to start this holiday season! Hershey Theatre is bringing us Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer: The Musical at the perfect moment…when we all need a little boost to get us in the holiday mood…

Rudolph first came to us in 1939 as a free leaflet from the Montgomery Ward store and brought to life by Robert L. May, the store’s advertising copywriter. Fast forward ten years and the song “Rudolph”, inspired by the story,  was penned by May’s brother in law and first performed by Gene Autry. In 1964, Burl Ives brought the song and story to television as a special, where it has run every year since.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical brings our favorite characters to the live stage including Rudolph, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus! The lesson for all of us whether child or adult…celebrate what makes each and every one of us different. We’re all special!.

Straight No Chaser: The New Old Fashioned Tour 2 Nov 2015, 2:00 am

Hershey Theatre is happy to welcome back to its stage the famous a cappella group Straight No Chaser for their 2015 show, The New Old Fashioned Tour (also the title of their newest album release)…

Originating in 1996 at the University of Indiana, their fame skyrocketed with the YouTube video in 2006 of their 1998 version of The Twelve Days of Christmas. The popularity of the group and its video led to a five-album contract with Atlantic Records in 2008. They have managed to reassemble and reemerge as the phenomenal ensemble who tour to packed houses. Widely known for their holiday music performances and albums ( Holiday Spirits, Christmas Cheers), they expanded to include a wide variety of favorites in subsequent albums (Six Pack [EP], Six Pack Vol. 2 [EP], With a Twist and Under the Influence).

To sum up this dynamic singing group, original member Randy Stine has said, “We take the music very seriously; we just don’t take ourselves too seriously.”

Twenty One Pilots Presale for EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW 29 Oct 2015, 3:00 am

***Tickets can be purchased for this presale event until 10:00 PM tonight (October 29, 2015). Use password: RIDE***

Bringing their headline summer tour to Hersheypark Stadium are the duo that are…Twenty One Pilots.

After some rearranging, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun are now at the helm. Their current show, “Blurry face Tour”, has been a huge success and sold out quickly. They bring quite a mix of instruments into their music..piano (and sometimes an electronic keyboard), synthesizer, drums ( mixed with electronic drums for some songs), vocals and an occasional ukulele. Their songs are poetry-based and sometimes difficult to fit into any one musical genre. Although there are allusions to Christian theology, references and/or inferences to God and they are both Christians…Twenty One Pilots is not considered a Christian band. While being difficult to categorize genre-wise, they’re certainly making headway on Alternative Radio.
