Jeff Dunham Perfectly Unbalanced at Giant Center 28 Sep 2015, 7:00 am

Called “America’s favorite comedian” by Slate.com, Giant Center once again welcomes Jeff Dunham..his last visit was 5 long years ago and we’re ready for more of his wit and humor. And he’s ready to deliver…

At the age of eight and armed with a Mortimer Snerd and the accompanying how-to booklet, Jeff set out to learn all he could about ventriloquism. By the time he reached middle school he was performing at banquets attended by local celebrities such as Roger Staubach. The rest is show business history. Mr. Dunham has continued to work since those early days and has worn many hats: American ventriloquist, producer, stand up comedian, as well as star of his own series The Jeff Dunham Show (2009). Some of the characters he brings to life in his stage show include Walter (retired, grumpy old man), Jose Jalepeno on a Stick, Bubba J (redneck), and  Achmed the Dead Terrorist.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Giant Center 14 Sep 2015, 7:00 am

The inspiration of creator, Paul O’Neill, the idea of Trans-Siberian Orchestra “was to create a progressive rock band that would push the boundaries (of that genre) further than any group before… Way, way further.”  It would appear Mr. O’Neill has succeeded nicely. Together with Jon Oliva, Al Pitrelli (both members of Savatage) and Robert Kinkle (keyboardist and co-producer) the group brought together a band of outstanding musicians to form the wildly successful sound that is Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Past shows, and they were long-running, included Christmas Eve and Other Stories, Beethoven’s Last Night and The Lost Christmas Eve. This year marks the year of a brand new show The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, and promises to be their best show yet!

The Ghosts of Christmas Eve show takes us back to almost the beginnings of TSO. Some may remember seeing it on television..it was filmed before the group ever went on tour. This show captures that magic and combines with other bits of the Christmas Trilogy to thrill fans of all three stories.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Hershey Theatre 3 Sep 2015, 7:00 am

Would it be Halloween without showing this film?

Long a cult favorite, this 1975 released film was based on the 1973 musical The Rocky Horror Show. The screenplay was written by Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien (who wrote The Rocky Horror Show musical). Intended to be an homage  to science fiction and B horror movies…it definitely hit its mark.  Rocky Horror starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick.

Although it was largely ignored on its release, it rapidly became one of the most famous (and to this day, still is) midnight movies…it all started at the Waverly Theater in New York City in 1976, where audience members participated in the antics, dance and music.

In 2005, The Rocky Horror Picture Show was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015

Admission: $8.00 and all seating is general admission
