Shining Dawn Bed and Breakfast Retreat Center

Shining Dawn Bed and Breakfast Retreat Center offers six comfortable guest rooms, providing quiet respite from the busy world. Several of our guest rooms can be configured into two- or three-room suites ideal for families or small groups. Please call us for details. Each suite is tastefully decorated and adjoins a private bathroom. Elegant, unique ceiling light fixtures transform the night into a warm welcoming atmosphere with accents of stained glass, crystal, and ornate metal. When the lights are out, our new Sealy Posturepedic Plush mattresses will help our guests to sleep well, and awaken refreshed.

All Guest Rooms are individually air conditioned and have internet connectivity through our wireless network. Rates are double occupancy and include a full breakfast. Many of the rooms have additional sleeping capacity at the rate of $25 per each additional guest per night. Although our first floor meeting areas have wheelchair accessibility, all guest rooms are located on the second floor and require the use of stairs. Rates do not include tax.

• Reservation Deposits: We require a 50% deposit to reserve your room(s). You will receive a confirmation e-mail, or phone call when your deposit has been processed. We normally process your deposit approximately two weeks before your check-in date. If you don't receive a confirmation e-mail or phone call from us please contact us. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Cash for all reservations. Reservations made at least two weeks in advance may also be secured with Checks or Money Orders if payment is sent promptly. These unsecured reservations will be held up to three business days pending receipt of payment.
• Cancellations: We understand that plans can suddenly change. We ask our future guests to please let us know as soon as possible if they need to cancel a reservation.
• Refund of deposits
• Two Weeks Notice: A full refund will be made if notice of cancellation is given at least 14 days in advance of the reservation date(s).
• One Week Notice: A $25.00 late cancellation fee per day will be charged against the deposit if cancellation is made with more than six—but less than 14—days advance notice.
• 48 Hours Notice: A conditional deposit refund minus the $25.00 late cancellation fee will be made if the cancellation is made with more than two—but less than seven— days advance notice and the room(s) can be re-booked for the dates in question.     We will make a serious effort but we can't guarantee that the room(s) can be re-booked with such short notice. If the reservations cannot be filled, we reserve the right to retain the full deposit.
• Less than 48 hours, no-shows, or early departures:
• This situation is not fair to other prospective guests, nor would it be fair to us.   Under these circumstances, unless there is some dire emergency, there can be no refund of deposit.
• Check-in: Check-in is between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. We need to know approximately when you'll arrive for check-in in order to be sure that we're available to welcome you. If you anticpate the need for a late check-in, please let us know so that we can make appropriate arangements. When you arrive at Shining Dawn for check-in you will find that all outside doors are locked. Come to the front door on Broadway and ring the bell. The button is on the right side of the door. Once you ring the bell we will be on our way to welcome you, so please be patient. Check-out time is by 11 a.m.
• Smoking and Burning Candles: We are a non-smoking Inn. For your safety we have installed an extremely sensitive, monitored fire detection system throughout the Inn. Smoking or burning of anything (candles, matches, etc.) by guests is not allowed inside of the Inn, on the back porch, or the guest porch. Smoking is allowed on the front porch, or in the back yard.
• Children and Pets: We welcome respectful, polite, and courteous children ages five and older. We cannot accommodate pets.
• Occupancy: All rates quoted are for double occupancy. Many of the rooms have additional sleeping capacity at the rate of $25 per each additional guest per night. In addition, several of our guest rooms can be configured into two, or three room suites. Please contact us for details.
• Breakfast: Breakfast is generally served at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. daily.  When making your reservation please let us know if you have special dietary requirements that you would like us to take into consideration.
• All Guest Rooms are individually air conditioned, have cable television/dvd players as well as internet connectivity through our wireless network.  Rates are double occupancy and include a full breakfast with daily housekeeping.  Single occupancy is $10.00 less than the double occupancy rate.  Many of the rooms have additional sleeping capacity at the rate of $25 per each additional guest per night.  Although our first floor meeting areas have wheelchair accessibility, all guest rooms are located on the second floor and require the use of stairs.  Rates do not include tax.
• Will you be traveling in a vehicle that's very special to you, or on an immaculately clean motorcycle that you that you don't want to leave outside overnight? Park off-street and carefree in our secure 1920s vintage brick "horseless" Carriage House.
• Our Guests' Safety is extremely important to us at Shining Dawn.  Shining Dawn meets or exceeds all modern fire and safety code regulations.
• Fire Safety:
• We have a modern, central fire/smoke detection alarm system throughout every room in our facility which is monitored 24/7.
• Illuminated Exit Signs and Emergency Lighting along all hallways, stairs and exits.
• Regularly inspected and maintained fire extinguishers are located on all floors.
• Fire-retardant paint was used on the walls of our back stairway fire escape pathway.
• We are a non-smoking facility.
• When guests are checked-in we are on-site 24/7.
• Deadbolts are on all guestroom doors and our B & B's outer doors, which are kept locked at all times.
• Lighted paths and entryways as well as extensive landscape lighting to eliminate dark areas on the property.
• Secure, free, covered, private parking is available upon request.
• Hospital and Emergency Services are located nearby.
• Guest information is always kept private and secure.
