A delicious, full homemade breakfast each morning of your visit is included in your Quarter's rate and is served either in our lovely Dining Room with views of the ponds, in your private Quarters (if you have chosen our "Breakfast in Bed" Package) or when warm, on one of the sprawling decks overlooking White Oak's acreage. Enjoy fresh seasonal fruit, homemade muffins, cinnamon rolls, biscuits or breads, and entrees ranging from savory quiches and omelets to sweet homemade syrups with pancakes and Belgium waffles. Most travelers stay at our inn because we have a great location in Gettysburg, "America's most famous small, historic town" and we are ranked in the top 3 "Most Romantic Inns in Pennsylvania" offering luxury guest quarters set on 33 private park-like acres. We have a full spa inside the inn, many inviting common rooms such as a theatre, tea room, billiard, formal parlor and guest kitchen. We also offer a year-around heated indoor swimming pool. Our rates include our famous full, homemade breakfast each morning as well as our delicious evening desserts with hot/cold beverages anytime.

We are best known for our warm hospitality, our inn's unique beautiful setting, large luxury guest quarters with gorgeous views overlooking ponds and gardens, our famous full, homemade breakfasts and our many fine amenities--like our pampering full spa and heated indoor swimming pool!
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Gettysburg is "the most famous small-town in America" boasting some of our nation's most historical events and sights. There is so much to do and see and the many historical sites are well-preserved, well maintained, and one may tour all the sights by many different means (horseback, carriage, personal battlefield tour guides, segways, etc). Gettysburg is also very beautiful, as well as historical and offers a great downtown, many delicious restaurants, great tax-free shopping (even outlet shopping) and fabulous famous re-enactments and living history events!
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? The best compliment we have ever received was that guests thought our property was one of the most beautiful properties they had ever been to and they felt like they were pampered family members and they never wanted to leave!
What’s the best kept secret about the area? Best kept secret is what a great home base Gettysburg makes for visiting other historical/Civil War sites on the same trip. We are within 90 miles of Washington, DC; Winchester, VA; Harper's Ferry, WV, Sharpsburg, MD (Antietam Battlefield); Frederick, MD; Manassas, VA, and Baltimore, MD.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? During a 4-night visit, guests would certainly want to visit Gettysburg's fabulous new Visitor's Center and have spa treatments in our tranquil, pampering spa. We will book them a Gettysburg Tour Package, for which we arrange a private, personalized Gettysburg Battlefield licensed tour guide who comes to the inn. We also recommend reservations for dinner at local, historical taverns and restaurants, tour the many museums, visit the famous locations where Lincoln wrote and read aloud the Gettysburg Address, and visit Eisenhower's Farm. We also suggest that guests make time to enjoy our inn's many amenitiies, like playing a game of pool, scheduling a private afternoon tea, watch a movie in our private theatre, walk the gardens and trails on our private 33 acres, sit by the peaceful ponds or waterfalls, lounge pool-side by our fireplaces or swim in our lovely private heated indoor swimming pool!
