    Accept no imitators! Our breakfast really IS "gourmet!" A multi-course breakfast is served at individual candlelit tables in our garden view dining rooms.     Dinner at Twin Linden

    Intimate candlelight dining is available at the inn by reservation on Saturday evenings. Overnight guests are given first priority for dinner. Dinner seating overlooks our beautiful gardens. Guests are invited to bring along a favorite bottle of wine or champagne to accompany their meal. Seating times begin at 7 p.m. The menu changes weekly and features a four-course fixed menu dinner with one alternate choice of entree. The cost is $98 per couple plus tax and gratuity.     Gardens & Views at Twin Linden

    The Inn at Twin Linden offers two and a half acres of beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking Amish and Mennonite farming valleys and the rolling Welsh mountains beyond. The scenery is breathtaking in any season.

    Located in the middle of a small historic town, the Inn offers a beautiful setting for relaxing outdoors. Herb gardens and perennial beds are connected with winding paths that lead to private English benches, perfect for enjoying tea or for quiet reading.

    Three porches are available for our guests, offering the opportunity for intimate conversation. Comfortable wicker furnishings, an old fashioned porch swing and front porch rockers provide an array of seating for our guests. Overhead a unique variety of mature trees provides cooling shade in summer and brilliant foliage in autumn.

    A gentle breeze may bring the sound of wind chimes while the clip-clop of buggies can be heard in the distance. Guests may enjoy an aperitif in our new pergola, with a setting reminiscent of a Tuscan vineyard - the perfect way to begin the evening.

    We're easy to reach! The Inn at Twin Linden is located in scenic eastern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in the center of the historic town of Churchtown. Located on a main road just 5 minutes from the PA Turnpike, the area surrounding the town has been preserved as farmland. We are conveniently located to the major activities throughout Pennsylvania Dutch Country. An array of fine dining and casual restaurants are within a 15 to 30 minute drive from the inn.

    Here are some approximate driving times that it takes to reach the inn via automobile:

    • 2 1/2 hours from New York City
    • 1 hour from Center City Philadelphia, PA
    • 1 3/4 hours from Baltimore, MD
    • 2 1/2 hours from Washington, D.C.
    • 1 hour from Harrisburg, PA

    From PA Turnpike: Take Exit 298 (Morgantown) to Rt. 10 South. Follow to Rt. 23 West. The Inn is approximately 4 miles on the left-hand side.

    From formal to the most intimate, Twin Linden offers several options for your Wedding Day.

      An Intimate Indoor Wedding any time of year with a very personal ceremony in front of the hearth decorated with sprays of white flowers surrounded by your closest family and friends. The ceremony can be followed by an informal affair featuring an elaborate array of butlered hors d'oeuvres to a full-course, waited dinner for as many of 20 guests. Seasonally, the ceremony may be held in a spot of your choosing in the gardens.

       

    • Enjoy a unique Bistro Style Affair for up to 90 guests. After your special ceremony in the gardens or indoors, your guests can mingle and enjoy each other's company without being tied to an assigned seat for the entire event. Your guests will enjoy a casual, free flowing atmosphere where they can visit several stations and choose foods to their liking. Freshly carved meats, seafood, prepared entre selections, crudities, pastas and salads may be offered. And of course deserts too. The variety will be of your choosing. Your guests are welcome to seat themselves at a dining room or patio table, informally on any of 3 porches, on a garden bench or in one of our 3 parlor areas. The inn will be enjoyed by you and your guests exclusively.

       

    • For a more Elaborate Traditional Event, seasonal outdoor weddings on our lower lawn, under a gorgeous white tent, can be arranged for up to 150 guests. Chairs on the lawn will accommodate your guests as they witness your vows taken under our Italianate pergola draped with trumpet vines. The Welch Mountain and farmland views are breathtaking and will make your ceremony magical.

    vacation getaway, the area offers a wide array of things to do:

    The Lower Susquehanna is home to the Pennsylvania Dutch, famous for their foods, farm markets, quilts, preservation efforts and simple way of living. Don't be fooled, however the area is also home to fabulous restaurants, charming farm-style and upscale B and Bs, some of the best antique shops anywhere, historic theaters, first-rate symphonies, and talented artists. History comes alive each day on the streets and in the fields of Lancaster County and you won't want to miss a moment of it.

    Churchtown and Immediate Vicinity:
    Historic Churchtown offers its own craft, antique and harness shops, some within walking distance of the inn. Covered bridges abound in our adjacent farming valleys. The area's Dutch Country roads offer scenic vistas for walking, jogging and biking. Visit our local Amish and Mennonite farm stands for fresh produce in season. Stop in an Amish farm and shop for beautiful hand-made quilts. Take a buggy ride around the area. Nearby, the Cloister in Ephrata offers tours of the original buildings which housed one of America's earliest communal societies. French Creek State Park is a pristine natural setting in which to bike, hike and picnic.

    Lancaster and Vicinity:
    Lancaster County abounds in history and offers an array of tours and activities. Landis Valley Farm Museum offers a recreated village of PA German rural life with live craft demonstrations held daily. The Strasburg Railroad offers rides on America's oldest shortline train. The Central Market in the city of Lancaster is America's oldest publicly owned, continuously operated farm market. If chocolate is your weakness, you won't want to miss Wilbur Chocolates in Lititz for a local favorite, Wilbur buds, or take a day trip to Hershey. While you're in Lititz, you can twist your own pretzel and tour the factory of the Sturgis Pretzel House, America's first pretzel bakery, with Plain hand-made pretzels. On nearby Rt. 340 in towns like Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse, Amish tourist attractions abound, with an array of local craft shops, museums like the People's Place Quilt Museum and PA Dutch foods. Our favorite stop is Kitchen Kettle Village and the neighboring Candle Barn.

    Golf
    The course at Honeybrook Golf Club, Honeybrook (5.3 miles) is a mixture of wide-open links, tree-lined fairways and subtle elevation changes that combine natural beauty and a great golf layout. Tree Top Golf Course, Manheim, is an 18-hole, par 65 course with rolling terrain in a country setting perfect for a novice golfer, the accomplished golfer looking for a quick round or a day out with the family. Tree Top also offers night golf and other special events. The 9-hole course at nearby Flying Hills caters to those interested in a shorter game.

    Wineries and Vineyards
    The climate and terrain of Southeastern Pennsylvania mirror those in the finest European wine regions. The 540 foot elevation protects the vines from the coldest of eastern nights and late spring frosts. If you are a wine lover, a tour of the local wineries is a fabulous way to spend the day while vacationing in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Here are a few favorites:

    • J. Maki Winery at French Creek Ridge Vineyards, Elverson, is the home of America's Best Champagne and one of the East's top producers of Methode Champenoise sparkling wine. The winery at this 10-acre vineyard recently installed a solar tracking system that produces 50% of the winery's electric needs.
    • Twin Brook Winery, at this 67-acre picturesque estate winery located in Gap, you can stroll through the vineyards and visit the restored 19th-century barn, which houses a state-of-the-art wine making facility and a rustic tasting room.
    • Mount Hope Estate & Winery, a carriage house wine shop featuring gourmet foods and hard-to-fine wine accessories, is located in Manheim. An Historic Estate Featuring Spectacular Entertainment on the Grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.

    Outlet Shopping:
    The Vanity Fair outlets are 20 minutes away in the city of Reading (America's original outlet center), and Rockvale and Tanger outlets are 35 & 40 minutes away on Rt. 30 in Lancaster.

    Antiquing:
    Antique shops abound in our area. Simply walk across the street to the Churchtown Antique Shop and enjoy visiting a beautifully restored 1800's building. Just 20 minutes away, in Adamstown, Antiques Capital USA is one of the largest antique markets in the country. Two weekend outdoor flea markets you don't want to miss are Shupp's Grove and Renninger's Antique/Collectibles Market. Stoudt's Black Angus Antique Mall features over 300 indoor and 200 outdoor venders. You are sure to come upon many charming, unique shops just meandering through the scenic roads of Lancaster County.

Enjoy critically acclaimed original shows and renowned celebrity performers at the American Music Theatre, Rt 30 Lancaster. With its restored Victorian architecture, The Fulton Opera House in Lancaster, is considered to be the nation's oldest continuously operating theatre and one of only eight theatres to be named a National Historic Landmark (behind the scenes tours available).

    Brandywine Valley:
    Within an hours drive from the inn, the Brandywine Valley offers several terrific attractions. Longwood Gardens is the world-renowned horticultural display with formal gardens and a huge indoor conservatory. Brandywine River Museum houses an outstanding collection of original art from Andrew Wyeth and family. Winterthur offers tours of the premier collection of early American decorative arts in the Henry DuPont estate and a wonderful Yuletide tour. And for the bargain minded you can tour the QVC Studio Park.
