Fallen Tree Farm

Whether dining indoors or out, a full breakfast is available every morning at Fallen Tree and is served at your requested time. Breakfast starts with juice and breads. A house specialty is our Swedish buns, a family recipe. The main course is served and will include sausage or bacon. Every spectacular meal needs a final touch and breakfast at Fallen Tree is no different. We serve a dessert that features, fruits, creams and cheese and sometimes even cake!

Breakfast is served in the formal dining room each morning. The formal dining room is available for hosting events such as baby or bridal showers, corporate dinners, Christmas parties and family reunions. The Pea Gravel Patio is the perfect place for eating breakfast in late spring and summer. Surrounded by mature trees it gets plenty of shade. It is located near the fish pond. The patio is also available for rent for birthday parties, showers and family reunions. Inquire about rates and availability. It can also be rented in conjunction with the indoor rooms.

Fallen Tree is home to 6 horses and ponies. The pony paddock features our most snuggly ponies, Fudge and Sundae. Former lesson ponies, they now spend their days grazing and keeping an eye out for visitors who might have apples and carrots. Fudge and Sundae provide pony rides for the Birthday events hosted at Fallen Tree. They like everybody but are especially fond of youngsters. .

Fallen Tree's resident gentle giant, Sullivan is a Newfoundland we adopted. He is great with all four and two legged creatures. Sully is only allowed to visit at guests' request and does not spend any time on the guest's side of the property.

Take a step back in time at Fallen Tree Farm Bed and Breakfast. Set on a historic 20 acre horse farm, our unique stone and brick farm house is located just south of Carlisle, only five minutes off Interstate 81.

An easy drive to Gettysburg, Hershey, Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg makes us the perfect lodging for all your central Pennsylvania sightseeing. We are just a few minutes drive to the Yellow Breeches and the Appalachian Trail.

Fallen Tree Farm is a labor of love for Innkeepers Kim and Brent Hanlin. They considered the idea of purchasing a home to convert into a bed and breakfast for many years before it became a reality. The home dates back to 1797 but it features many modern amenities, such as high speed wireless internet, a commercial grade kitchen and gas fireplaces. Next on the list is converting the hand dug front basement into a wine cellar.

There are many things to do here on the farm during your stay with us. Shoot some hoops on our basketball court, tucked up in the woods. Walk our five acres of nature trails or laze the day away on one of the porches with a good book. Fall foliage abounds at Fallen Tree. The woods are an abundant source of firewood, nature walks and home to many creatures. We are in the process of clearing bridle paths for horseback riding and jogging.

Fallen Tree is blessed with lovely old brick walkways and antique iron fencing. The gardens at Fallen Tree are a constant changing feature. Both Kim and Brent are landscape enthusiasts and enjoy experimenting with different garden themes and water features. We have many different beds planned for the future but some of the beds inherited from the farm's previous owner are quite lovely as well.

We can provide a lovely and memorable setting for your next bridal or baby shower. Have your next company Christmas gathering around one of our many fireplaces. Our large grounds are perfect for a family reunion or a small wedding. Fallen Tree also hosts birthday parties for youngsters here at the farm which can include pony rides and special hands-on experiences with our ponies.

Fallen Tree Farm's rooms and grounds are available for special events. Consider us when looking for a unique setting for your next event. Catering is available for small functions. For larger events Fallen Tree is happy to recommend a local caterer and help coordinate the event.
