The Alexander Benjamin House

Welcome to the Alexander Benjamin House. We invite you to stay in our charming traditional Victorian Inn. The world around this structure has changed in the past 100 years, but little has on its foundation. Built sometime in the late 1800's by Wellington Weaver and his wife, Fiana Andreas Weaver, this family treasure had been passed down from generation to generation. For all of its existence, this building served the community either as a general store, apartments, or post office. The existing barn and garages served as a livery stable and implement shop.

In December, 2008, this historical property once again changed hands to the current owners, Hilary England & Mark VanBuskirk. With some fresh updates and improvements, we are proud to open our front doors to you. Come inside and enjoy the beautiful craftsmanship of yesterday with all the amenities of today.

In the mornings, we invite you to enjoy a delicious home-cooked breakfast. Our breakfasts are made of your choice of organic eggs from our local farmers, sausages, bacon and other tasty breakfast meats, fresh local in season fruit, gourmet pancakes and delectable french toast, hot cereals, potatoes, just baked pastries and newly squeezed juices, freshly ground coffee, or a variety of tea-- our healthy and hearty breakfasts are made to get your day started right! We use only organic ingredients in our breakfasts, and all of our meals are 100% home cooked.

We can accommodate and safely store your ski equiptment, bikes, and any other bulky gear in our onsite storage garage, as well as offer you ample off-street parking.

We offer seasonal specials, including ski packages, Honeymoon specials, wine tour packages, fly fishing packages, golf resort weekend packages, military discounts, corporate and long term lodging specials, frequent stay specials, "Murder Mystery" weekends, and other fun events! As you enter The Alexander Benjamin House, the Victorian foyer and staircase welcome you with a traditional American theme. View the pictures, prints and paintings throughout the house. Enjoy the antiques as you make yourself at home in the inviting sitting room and formal dining room. Don't hesitate to read, chat or listen to the grandfather clock chime. Take a breather and listen to some jazz on the house stereo.

Take a stroll out on our porch and gaze through the old store front window. If you enter the Post Office please notice the architecture. The atmosphere will take you back 50 years. Say "hello" to the postmaster and have a lollipop! The weather here is always fine no matter the season, so enjoy a short walk down to Lizard Creek and relax to the sound of the sparkling water--skip a few stones or watch the fish make their way downstream. Discover the art lover in you by visiting our onsite art studio--have a glass of wine and some good conversation!

After a peaceful night venture down to the dining room for a delicious all natural and
organic country breakfast. Seating is arranged for individual couples, but group seatings can be accommodated on request. Breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m.

For our corporate clients seeking a short or long term stay we offer the following:

• Cable and Wireless High Speed Internet Access in all guest rooms; Wireless internet access available through the house.

Long term stays (2 weeks and up) start for: $199 per week plus tax

For Our Single Guests
We know traveling alone can be a "headache," so we offer you the option of staying in our Lavender Room, where you may dine privately on your balcony if you so choose. Please let us know if you would like to have breakfast in-room and we will be glad to accommodate you.
