Guest Rooms/Rates
Hartzell House boasts 6 beautiful and uniquely designed guest rooms; three in the original, 1870 West wing, and three in the new East wing. Each room is decorated with an easy elegance that offers you a luxurious and peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday stresses. The high quality, plush beds welcome you like a loving embrace, with memory-foam toppers, and 400+count Egyptian cotton or flannel sheets. Your choice of pillow density will ensure a good night's sleep. Each guest room has wireless internet service, hair dryer, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, terry slippers, and comfy robes. Basic toiletries, as well as Bath & Body Works soaps and lotions are provided. We make every effort to provide anything you might find necessary. All room rates are subject to 6% state and 3% local taxes.
All rooms except the Trapper's and Teacher's have a minimum two-night stay on weekends and holidays.
The Traveler's Room has a slightly exotic air, with Antique European landscapes, carved teak trunk, and Asian statuary. The luxurious queen-sized bed is adorned with an elegant golden floral tapestry. This room has a private bath with a large shower and a unique, in-room vanity fashioned from an antique ladies' dressing table. Room Rates:

The Teacher's Room features a queen-sized bed, a ladies' writing desk, and a cozy chair in which to settle and read. This room shares the spacious main bath with the Trapper's Room, and there is a private pedestal sink tucked into a corner for your convenience. The crystal chandelier and unique, glazed, hand-painted walls create a warm, restful atmosphere. Room Rates:

The Trapper's Room has a sunny southern window that overlooks the original National Road. It is elegantly masculine in decor, with a Winslow Homer print and antique oak armchair. Hides, taxidermy, and a hornet's nest adorn the faux-finished, leather walls. A comfy extra-plush Queen bed is crowned by an antique, hand-carved oak headboard. This room shares the spacious main bath with the Teacher's Room and has an en-suite, ornate, marble-topped vanity for your convenience. Room Rates:

The ample, main floor Patriot’s Suite is our fully handicap-accessible room, decorated in an Asian inspired Mission style. It hosts a Memory Foam King bed draped in fine bedding of blue-greens and gold and has a comfortable sitting area supplied with reading material designed to delight our Nation’s heroes (and those who appreciate them). The bath has a no-barriers shower big enough for a small army. Room Rates:

Angler's Room The upstairs Angler’s Room will inspire sweet dreams for the outdoorsman. The bed is a plush queen Memory Foam mattress, draped in gemstone inspired colors. The room houses built-in bookcases filled with camp inspired reading, a cozy seating area situated on a faux-fur area rug, and vintage rods and reels. The beautiful en-suite bath holds a comfortably sized tile shower. (The stairs leading to this suite are well lit, spacious, and have a sturdy handrail, but the risers are a tall 9".)

Artist's Suite The upstairs Artist’s Suite is reminiscent of a spacious Paris studio apartment, with a plush sitting area comprised of a Lazyboy convertible sofa (opens to a very comfortable double bed), a comfy club-chair, and a table for two. The sleeping area, with a Memory-foam Queen, is separated from the sitting area by a high bookcase. The room is decorated in soft golds, yellows, and greens, with rose accents, and overlooks our quiet Main Street. The private bath, which is situated next to the suite, has an relaxing Jacuzzi tub. (The stairs leading to this suite are well lit, spacious, and have a sturdy handrail, but the risers are a tall 9".)

Relax. Reenergize. Get ready for the excitement of the ski slopes at Wisp or Seven Springs. Enjoy the spa and world-class golf at Nemacolin Woodlands. Bike the Rails to Trails, or raft the rapids of the Yough and Cheat rivers. Fish or boat at Deep Creek Lake. Peruse the abundant national and local history that surrounds us. Find a treasure at River's Edge Antiques or another of the diverse shops in our neighborly tri-state area. Enjoy the area's abundant festivals, historic reenactments, and auctions. Quiet Elegance The spacious parlor is well appointed with plush upholstered seating, unusual antiques, and original artwork and ceramics. It is a peaceful room in which to enjoy the company of friends or relax in quiet contemplation by the fireside. Hidden in a discrete cabinet made from the original interior shutters is a media center, and over 100 videos and DVDs of various venues are available for your viewing.
The Hartzell House library is a small but stately room with floor to ceiling bookcases that house a mix of vintage reading and more contemporary selections. The cabinets are well stocked with games for all ages, and the center table is perfect for cards, Scrabble, or spreading out the daily news with your morning coffee. Computer access and wireless internet are available daily for your use until 11 pm, and basic office supplies are at your fingertips.

Bon Apetit! Most evenings our guests are invited to enjoy a reception of hors d' oeuvres and beverages. We generally offer local and seasonal beers, fine wines, and alcohol-free beverages that complement a fine selection of gourmet treats for those who prefer not to dine out.
Mornings here are unhurried, and the breakfast schedule and menu are determined by your request. Guests receive menu cards upon arrival and select from a variety of options for the following day's fare and dining times. We love to cater to individual dietary requirements and preferences, so please let us know your specifics at least 48 hours in advance of your stay, and we will gladly meet them!

Each guest room has wireless internet service, hair dryer, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, terry slippers, and comfy robes. Basic toiletries, as well as Bath & Body Works soaps and lotions are provided. Policies - Reservations are required.
- Deposit of one night's payment by check, money order, or Traveler's Cheque, is required to guarantee reservation.
- Deposit should be received within 5 days of reservation request or room will revert to available status.
- Cancellations must be received at least 7 days in advance of reserved date for return of deposit.
- If cancellation is received within 7 days of reserved date, return of deposit will be contingent upon our ability to re-book the room.
- All cancellations are subject to a $5.00 service fee.
- Check-in is between 4:00pm and 9pm, unless otherwise arranged, and check-out is 11:00am.
- All room rates are subject to state and local taxes.
