Eufaula is located in McIntosh County, 12 miles south of Interstate 40. Eufaula holds its annual Whole Hawg Day at the end of July. Events include a Pig cook-off, a Miss Lake Eufaula pageant, a Poker Run, a car show, a kid's carnival, arts and crafts booths, and plenty of food to eat! The famous Chili-Cook off is held in October each year. There is a chili contest with a people's choice award, a shoot 'n hollar competition, a Miss Hot Sauce/Mr. Chili Pepper contest, arts and crafts booths, live music and entertainment, wine tastings, and plenty of children's activities. Eufaula is located on the shore of Lake Eufaula, the largest lake in Oklahoma. The lake offers many recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, camping and hiking. The downtown area of Eufaula offers many arts opportunities such as painting and an artswalk. If you plan to spend time in downtown Eufaula, you should book a room in a Eufaula bed and breakfast, a local B&B, or Eufaula inn. Lakeside restaurant is the premier restaurant in Eufaula with a panoramic view of Lake Eufaula. They specialize in Tex-Mex food but are closed on Mondays.
