    The Cider Mill Bed & Breakfast - Zoar, OhioThe Cider Mill Bed & Breakfast in Zoar, Ohio, welcomes you to stay with us in our historic 1863 Cider Mill. Come climb the spiral staircase to the upper level and choose from four uniquely decorated period rooms, each with its own private bath. Enjoy a scrumptious gourmet breakfast in the dinning room.  In the evening, come sit around the fireplace or if weather permits enjoy or  very private screended porch and munch on  homemade cookies and a selection of beverages, including cider.

    Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

    We are located in one of Ohio’s historical sites founded in 1817 by German Separatists. We are also located on the Ohio Erie Canal Bike Path, and we are 30 minutes from Amish country.

    What are you best known for?  

    Our inn was an actual Cider Mill. It is rustic and decorated in the primitive style with all modern amenities.

    What makes your inn unique?

    We are also known for our gourmet breakfasts.

    What do you love most about your inn?

    What I love about the Cider Mill is the decor and screened in Porch that overlooks our pond and creek.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    To travel back in time to the the early 1800's. Most of the buildings in our town, Zoar Village are authentic 1800 buildings. We have a fabulous museum that houses the Ohio Historical Society's Zoar artifacts.

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    "Enter as strangers leave as friends."

    What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    Zoar is located in the country, yet it is 5 minutes from Highway 77. You get a true feeling of peacefulness when visiting Zoar Village and the Cider Mill

    If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

    Visit the historical sites: Zoar, Ft Laurens, Warther's Museum, Amish Country, Football Hall of Fame, etc. Antiquing is very big in our area.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Shops, museums, arboretum,Tuscarawas River, Bike and walking paths and restaurants.

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    Gorigio's, Litehouse Bistro (Atwood lake) and Canal Tavern of Zoar

    The Cider Mill Gift Shop and Bed & Breakfast is filled with old-world charm and rustic ambiance,  You will enjoy the many antiques and collections that adorn the Mill. The aisles of the gift shop are filled with one of the most extensive collections of  American artisans as well as reproductions.Take your time and browse the aisles to discover Yellowware, Redware, Bellsnickles, Primitives,  antiques, folk art collections, seasonal holiday treasures, quilts, furniture and so much more. In harmony with nature and the quaint Village of Zoar, the Cider Mill offers homespun delights around every corner. Shop Hours: Winter, Closed Jan,-March, Open Thursday- Saturday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday-Wednesday by chance or appointment.

  • Meet The Innkeepers:

    Innkeepers Patrick and SondraWe, Sondra and Patrick Ragon, along with our toy poodle, welcome you to the Cider Mill Gift and Antique Shop and Bed and Breakfast. We are both professional educators. Patrick, my husband, has a doctorate in education and a masters in divinity. I am a  reading specialist. I am also a gourmet cook and primitive reproduction crafter and will offer classes in cooking, as well as, rug hooking and knitting.   Welcome to the Cider Mill. If you are interested in rug hooking.  Zoar rug hookers meet at the Cider Mill every fourth Thursday of the Month for a hook-in.

    2. Turn east onto Route 212 east
    3. Continue for 3 miles to Zoar Village
