  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Brenda Speas for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

We are located in a great Amish Country location where lots of people cater to tourists. People like to come to this area and there are lots of motels, but they want to have a bit more privacy so many check out the cabins in our area. They are looking for a quiet-private place to spend time with their spouse and re connect. It is private as the guests don' t have to check in anywhere, they just go straight to the cabin and get in with the keyless entry. They can sit outside on their private back deck and enjoy God's beautiful creation.

What are you best known for?

A quiet log cabin that sits on a golf course just one mile from the main road, cleanliness and the extra amenities make us stand out.

    What makes your inn unique?

We have 2 suites that have back decks that face a pond and golf course. So your back yard is HUGE and it's always well manicured. It sits on the 11th hole of the Willandale Golf Course (willandalegolf.com) So golfers love the convenience of the cabin.

What do you love most about your inn?

We have a nice quiet place to get away from it all and just communicate with your spouse. People love to sit outside in the summer and watch the birds and listen to the horses go by. They love the 2 person jacuzzi that you can relax in. It’s off the main path, yet it’s close enough to the shops if you want to go there. They can go out to dinner at several great restaurants, or they can cook on our charcoal grill and eat at the cabin.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Amish Country is the biggest draw.  There are lots of things to do and see, the good food, great people, and the best shops in the state.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

We have had lots of people tell us that we have supplied their every need. They love the peaceful area that the cabin is in, and that they were able to re connect with each other. They felt renewed when they left. That is truly our goal: for couples to get away together and just relax.  People do come back time after time so that is our best compliment.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

We have the best bulk foods stores, best meats and in the summer, home grown produce along with free range chicken eggs. We have 4 wineries within a 5 mile radius, quilt shops, cheese shops, candy factory, tours of Amish homes and dinner with them too if you want. We have shows at the Carlisle Inn in the evenings along with Amish Country Theatre.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

We have quilt shops, cheese shops, candy factory, flea markets, homemade jellies and jams, tours of Amish homes and dinner with them too if you want. We have shows at the Carlisle Inn in the evenings along with Amish Country Theatre www.amishcountrytheater.com, David Warther Carvings, Walnut Creek Animal Farm, craft stores, We have 4 wineries within a 5 mile radius it just goes on and on.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

The Willandale Golf Course with 27 holes is right next door.
