During a walking tour of town you will enjoy a one of a kind covered bridge, a beautiful park with its Gazebo, or a relaxing walk along the river bike path. Lynn and Bonnie (Gunckel) Koogle are the innkeepers at Gunckel Heritage, a Victorian-Italianate built by Philip Gunckel, the founder of Germantown, in 1826 for his daughter Elizabeth.
You will enjoy our hospitality center with its complimentary refreshments including an ice cream sundae bar with all the trimmings for your favorite sundae or banana split. You will also receive discount dinner coupons with your reservations -- 10% off the total bill at The Florentine Hotel, the second oldest hotel in Ohio - also built by Philip Gunckel (just two doors east of the B&B). Later in the evening you can make yourself a sundae or banana split and enjoy sitting on the back porch on the antique wicker furniture or the ice cream tables and chairs and listen to the relaxing sound of the water fountain in the summertime, or cozy up to one of the six fireplaces in the winter.
The guest hospitality center also has complimentary pop, fruit juices, and gourmet coffees, along with popcorn, and peanuts.
We will be happy to host your catered dinners and luncheons, retirement parties, reunions, meetings, parties, showers, romantic get-aways and anniversaries.
Wireless internet access available.
Our motto is: "If your stay with us becomes a cherished memory, then we have accomplished our goal."
