Fessenden Bed and Breakfasts
Fessenden, located in Wells County, ND, is home to the annual Wells County Fair. Usually held on the third or fourth week of June, the fair has something to offer for all ages: midway rides, Bull-a-Rama, grandstand performances, free stages, 4-H events and exhibits. If you're thinking about staying at a Fessenden bed and breakfast, you may want to try canoing on the James River. Bring your own canoe and put in at Manfred or the bridge on Highway 52 and ride the sometimes rapid and sometimes placid current to the Hwy 1 Bridge. Outdoor events are what attracts people to stay in a Fessenden inn or B&B. The Fessenden City Park has great landscaping to enjoy the four picnic shelters including tables and grills, up-to-date playground equipment, tennis courts, volleyball pit, basketball court, softball field and the city swimming pool. There is even an campground located on the northwest side of the park. You can also fish here on the Pipestem Watershed, depending on the depth of the river. The Hurdsfield Dairy King is a relatively tiny but useful local restaurant, and the Luis Cafe is known for its great food and great service.
