The Inn was built in 1908 as the private residence of Mr. Jim Long, the developer of the Waynesville Country Club. He and his family resided here for thirty years. Impressed by the house and its setting, Mr. Long named the area 'Belle Meade' from the French which when translated means 'Beautiful Meadows'. An elegant home from yesteryear, Belle Meade Inn Bed & Breakfast is nestled in the natural beauty of the mountains of Western North Carolina offers its guests today's modern comforts yet recaptures yesterday's charms.
