Originally constructed in 1902 and now designated as one of Waynesville's historic properties, this turn of the century home reflects all the beauty, grace and charm that could be manifested in this traditional style of architecture. Large windows, tall ceilings, extensive hardwood and veranda porches are
but a few of the original attributes of this beautiful old home.

Our guest rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Each with a fireplace,a private bathroom, luxurious robes and special individual amenities that make each of them unique.

The Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast is located less than one mile from the center of downtown Waynesville, which is 26 miles west of Asheville and just minutes from Lake Junaluska & Maggie Valley. Waynesville was founded in 1810 and in 1999 was voted the best small town downtown in the entire state of North Carolina. Shopping and dining are located in town, while the convenience of paved streets and local highways insures your easy access to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway or other local attractions, while experiencing the natural beauty that is the Smoky Mountains.

If you just can't stand to be away from your daily workout routine, Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast has a great private fitness room onsite with outstanding equipment. You will find a Cybex treadmill, Cybex stairstepper and Octane elliptical, all commercial grade. We also have dumbbells from 2.5 lbs. to 50 lbs. with an adjustable bench. Stability balls, bands, medicine balls and all functional equipment right at your fingertips. After your workout, you can relax in our sauna. Staying at our bed and breakfast is almost like being at your own private spa.

The common areas of our bed and breakfast are comfortably furnished to make you feel at home. Our glass enclosed Garden Room with a fireplace, game tables, a 56 inch flat screen TV with Cable, wet bar, refrigerator and magnificent mountain views is available for you to curl up with a good book, or to enjoy conversation. Our common areas were designed both for your comfort and relaxation.

End your busy day in our lower level Recreation Center. Enjoy a game of pool, darts or tabletop shuffleboard or relax in our dry heat sauna. If you still have energy to burn, the commercial exercise equipment can take care of that. We have a treadmill, elliptical and stairstepper plus weights and a bench. If not, opt for viewing a DVD movie or sit back with a book and relax.

At Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast our four-course breakfast is a special occasion. Food is a big deal here. Everything is made with the freshest ingredients and almost all from "scratch". No one leaves our table hungry! Enjoy the warmth of the fireplace, beautiful mountain views, fresh flowers, fine china, and sparkling crystal. Then add eight or ten people that might have been strangers when they sat down but become memorable friendships when they leave. "After all, breakfast is half our identity." .

Our goal at the Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast is simple. It is to make your stay with us as comfortable and pleasant as it could be, to assist you with things to do or see, and to hopefully instill in you a true feeling of welcomeness that will make each returning trip to the Andon-Reid Inn feel as though you're coming home.

In 1995 Don and Ann Rothermel were visiting the Waynesville area on a short vacation. While stopping to view the pictures in the window of a local real estate office, their interest was aroused by this home and what seemed to be a fateful pleading to come and see her. Their first visit to the property occurred at ten o'clock in the morning and as the saying goes "just one look is all it took". By two o'clock that afternoon the contracts were signed, approved and a final closing date was determined.

Having had previous exposure to remodeling and restoration, Don's experience with construction along with Ann's decorating talent seemed to be the ideal combination required to save this fine old home. They set out on their course of resurrecting the house in April of '96.

They determined that they would do the physical work themselves so as to retain all the original attributes of the property. Their concept was to restore those things that contributed to the original ambiance while upgrading the mechanical systems to extend the safety, convenience and life of the structure. This careful blending of old and new enables you to take a trip back in time while enjoying the conveniences of the present. The major portion of the renovation was completed in May of 1998 and the Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast opened its doors the following month. In June of 2006, Ron and Rachel Reid purchased this beautiful home after a four year search. Ron had always said "We will know the right one when it dazzles us." This meticulously renovated home dazzled them. They have since been settling into this wonderful town of Waynesville and have changed the name of the Bed and Breakfast to Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast. Ron and Rachel want to continue in the home-style traditions of Don and Ann and in addition bring to you their own personal touches to this lovely Inn.
