Mountainside Lodge Bed & Breakfast

Our log B & B was completed and opened for business in July 2004. We had our guest's utmost comfort in mind as we designed, furnished, and decorated our lodge. The decor is a perfect blend of antiques and new furnishings with every attention to detail to make your stay a delight from beginning to end. Mountainside Lodge is located in picturesque Valle Crucis where we are nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the Watauga River.

The cozy and friendly atmosphere of our lodge will offer you the relaxation that you are looking for with your choice of any of our three spacious guest rooms and one deluxe suite, all with their own private baths. Our rooms will accommodate you with many excellent amenities such as pillow top mattresses, fluffy down pillows/blankets, fragrant soaps, bubble baths and salts, big thirsty towels, and plush robes for your pleasure. We welcome our guests to enjoy the luxury of rocking on our wrap around scenic front porch while sipping lemonade OR sitting by the gathering room stone fireplace enjoying a hot beverage while sharing stories and fun with others OR even enjoying a good book in the peace and solitude of our reading room.

Room rates include a two course homemade breakfast to start your day, afternoon appetizers, and yummy homemade evening desserts to tickle your taste buds before retiring for the day. Any special dietary needs or preferences will be gladly accommodated. There are many causal to fine dining restaurants in the area. We will be glad to make recommendations and/or reservations for you. Please be sure to let us know if you will be celebrating a special occasion while staying with us.

Hunting

Our upland bird hunting preserve which opened in the Fall of 2007 is the first of its kind in the Boone area. We offer hunts for quail, chukar, and pheasants. Our hunts take place in fields and surrounding mountain terrain, therefore, be prepared to have your exercise workout for the day during your hunt.

Fishing

Our B & B overlooks the Watauga River, one of the premier trout rivers in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We can provide whole day or half day fishing excursions . On any given day, a mixed bag of rainbow, brown, or brook trout can be caught. For an avid fisherman, putting the experience of the surrounding beauty of the mountains and the thrill of a trout rising to the top is very hard to put into words.
