The 1906 Pine Crest Inn is conveniently located to the nearby charming and historic mountain towns of Tryon, Columbus, Saluda, Flat Rock, Hendersonville, and Landrum offering a diverse mix of specialty shops, art galleries, antiques, restaurants, and entertainment. The inn is located in the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, an area rich in History, Music, Crafts, Culture and the Arts with some of the most beautiful scenic vistas, parks, streams, and trails.Nearby attractions in the NC Mountains include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Flat Rock Playhouse, Chimney Rock State Park, DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Inn is only a few minutes drive from the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center where there are miles of hiking trails and where fox hunts, steeplechases, and horse shows take place throughout the year.
Built in 1906 as a health resort, the property was converted to an inn in 1917 by Carter Brown who also fostered the equestrian community that Tryon is known for. Today, the Inn features 35 comfortable guest rooms; three in the main Pine Crest Lodge and the remainder in ten outlying cottages. Original buildings, including a 240-year-old log cabin, a woodcutter cottage, and a stone cottage, add to its charm. Each of our guest rooms has private bath, telephone, television and VCR, and many rooms feature sitting rooms, fireplaces, and whirlpool baths. The Inn also offers an extensive library of books and videotapes to peruse at your leisure. Guests may also relax in the spacious Main Lodge or in the more intimate Fox and Hounds Bar before dining.

We have a lovely open green and a gazebo bordered by roses for outdoor events. Our Conference & Event Center transforms into an enchanting indoor venue. Large Weddings (From 75 - 225 Guests)
- Outdoor Weddings - We can accommodate up to 225 guests in a floating event, or up to 100 for a seated reception. Note that we must secure a tent for an outdoor event too large to relocate indoors in case of bad weather.
- Conference Center – We can accommodate up to 125 guests in a floating event, or up to 50 for a seated reception.
Small Weddings (Fewer than 75 Guests)- Outdoors - Smaller weddings are ideal as outdoor events. Although it is not necessary to secure a tent for these size events, we caution that weather could dictate last minute-changes that you had not planned.
- Main Lodge - We can accommodate up to 30-35 guests standing comfortably in our English-inspired main lobby.
- Dining Rooms - We can accommodate 60-75 guests seated or 80-100 standing.
- Stone Cottage - Approximately 20 people can attend a wedding in our lovely Stone Cottage.
- Veranda - Our Southern hospitality shines for small ceremonies on our front porch.

Gallery hopping, antiquing, hiking on local trails and to scenic waterfalls, attending musicals and plays at the local theaters and playhouses, or sipping wine at a local winery are just a few of our favorites. We are also blessed with access to some of North Carolina's most popular tourist attractions, such as the expansive Biltmore Estate, the Cowpens Battlefield Park, or the historic homes of famous writers, poets, and playwrights such as Carl Sandburg, Thomas Wolfe, or Sidney Lanier.
The inn offers volleyball, croquet and bocce ball on the lawn by our gazebo. A ping-pong table is available upon request for special events as well.

We take great pride in our world-class wine list, winner of the Wine Spectator Award for Excellence for eight consecutive years. Each of our over 1,600 different selections is stored with great care in our private wine cellar allowing you to select the prefect wine for any meal or occassion.
