Caroline Room
A cheerful room decorated in yellow and blue checks and stripes. The double size bed is fitted with white luxury linens. The window looks out into a pecan tree next to the house which provides a shady light source. The room boasts a charming window seat to sit and dream in. A small table and folding chairs are the perfect place to sit at your laptop or with your postcards to write home. An Amish bentwood rocker bathroom in the hallway is private or, in the European Style, is shared with the Magnolia Room when it is occupied. The edroom dresser top was perfectly completed when the owner sat her porcelain girl figure dressed in yellow on it. Noticing the girl's name on the label is Caroline, the name for the room was evident - a fitting tribute to the Carolinian territory which became our state.
Beacon Room
Windows overlook Pollock Street which, in a few blocks, is central in the downtown area. The room includes a game table/ writing desk, a love seat and ottoman an antique chest with mirror and an attached bathroom just for you. The bathroom is spacious and is equipped with a tub/shower. Let this room be a beacon to your peace of mind and comfort while you stay here in New Bern. A beacon reminds us of the lighthouses that line the Carolina coast and keep us safe from unseen dangers when we are at sea, hence the name of the room.
Magnolia Room
The ‘Fairest Flower in the South’ is a fitting home for this lovely room’s namesake. The room color, a light mint green, is a soothing color to relax in and enjoy the magnolia related décor. The two rear corner windows provide ample light to brighten daytime enjoyment. The Queen Bed is fitted with white luxury linens and a fresh duvet cover for each new arrival makes nighttime a restful occasion. The room has all the modern amenities you would expect for your convenience, yet there are the ‘heart of pine’ wood floors and custom milled woodwork that makes it clear that you are in a Historic house. The bathroom in the hallway is private or, in the European Style, is shared with the Caroline Room when it is occupied. A platform cane seated rocker beside a window, invites you to take some time to read and ponder the outdoor surroundings. The furnishings completing the room are from grandma Skelton’s house where she worked her seamstress’ magic on her
Singer sewing machine still in it’s original cabinet and the vanity where she sat holding her toddler granddaughter in her lap as she put on her “rouge” and curled her hair with “bobby pins”.

Bedroom Amenities & Policies
Our table and chairs, love-seat, deacon's bench are a perfect place to sit and leaf through the tour books of New Bern on our shelves or just chat with the owners or other guests. We have games to play at the table and magazines about the area to browse through. There is a supply of current and classic movie DVDs you can borrow and enjoy in the privacy of your bedroom. The roll-top desk in the corner serves as our office and a telephone is at your disposal here. Faxing services are available in the Inn at no additional charge.Bedroom Amenities

Our Hospitality Agreement
- CANCELLATION POLICY - We regret any reason that you may find it necessary to Cancel your Reservation. However, if we are notified within the time frames stated at the time your reservation was made and confirmed by us then there will be NO CHARGE. Otherwise, we do reserve the right to charge for the Room reserved at the Rate booked.
- Our Hurricane Policy: If Craven County is issued a Mandatory Evacuation Order a refund will be given. If evacuation order is not issued for Craven County, a credit for another stay will be given should our guest decide not to stay/arrive.
- PAYMENTS ACCEPTED - We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, E check, Cash, PayPal, Debit Cards, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Travelers Checks or Bank Transfers. At the time of reservation your credit card information will be taken to hold your reservation. Charges will not be billed until your arrival. (No personal checks please)
- CHECK IN / CHECK OUT - Check-in time will be between 4pm and 6pm (unless other arrangements have been made) Check-out time is 12pm (noon).
- SMOKING AREAS - The Sail Inn is a smoke-free environment. There are designated smoking areas outside on the front porch and also outside on the Inn's accompanying grounds.

PARKING - There is room for 1 customer vehicle in the driveway on the side of the house (at no additional charge) and street side
