The décor of the room evokes memories of our trip to Ireland, as well as the "fighting Irish" of Notre Dame. Two fathers and two sons who are alumnae of the University of Notre Dame keep those memories fresh. Local author Nicholas Sparks is a 1987 alumnae and his 1985 track team is noted in the 1986 yearbook in the room.
A print of Mozart's home hangs over the mantle, bringing back memories of a trip to Europe. Seating area for that early morning coffee and ladies desk. This room could easily be called the hydrangea high note room, as there are hydrangeas in abundance. Antique clock was repaired by a Swiss guest. New Bern hosts multiple music concerts throughout the year.
The bedroom with the queen sleigh bed with private attached bath allows for additional privacy on the third floor. One bedroom.
Two double beds in separate room.
Named for our favorite Impressionist artist and evoking memories of our trip to Paris & Giverney. Spacious room with king size bed and double sink ensuite bath for pampering. Victorian seating area and desk for working and/or checking your email. Flat screen TV. This room can be easily altered to provide two twin beds.
The Josephine room is our Victorian room, named for Betty's mother. She was a lady who lived during that era. The furnishings in the room reflect the Victorian period. Her grandparents immigrated from Belgium, another area that we have enjoyed visiting. The photo on the wall was taken in 1923. Photos in the room include wedding pictures of Josephine and Anthony Myles Jackson united in marriage in 1926.
A memorable trip to Europe and tribute to the Swiss founders of New Bern. Lucerne was our favorite city in Switzerland. A cog railway trip up Mt. Rigi and an overnight stay on top of the mountain gave breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne. We went to sleep hearing the cow bells softly ringing outside our bedroom window. A trip down the mountain the next morning was made with the local rosy cheeked school children on their way to school.
Originally chosen from memories of a Japanese patient of Betty's and John's business contacts, it has broadened our knowledge of the orient, with a son living and working in China. After a busy day of work or play, say sayonara to your worries in this bright, tranquil room. The history of tea dates back to the Chinese and will be featured in our "tea of the month" during 2012.

We understand that emergencies can occur; therefore our cancellation policy is 72 hours notice prior to your 3:00 p.m. check in time. A $25.00 administrative fee will be charged to your credit card, should you cancel with less than the 72 hours notice unless we are able to rebook the room for the period of your original reservation. If we are unable to book the room after less than the 72 hours notice, the full room rate will be placed on your credit card. The receipt and credit for future use will be mailed to your home address.
