Old North Durham Inn - Durham, North Carolina

    An Inn of Distinction

Visitors to the Old North Durham Inn are invited to share in the charm of this historic, Prairie Foursquare home. The Inn is listed in Preservation Durham's Inventory of Historic Properties and is a recipient of an "Architectural Conservation Citation" for its renovations.

The first bed and breakfast to open in the city, the Inn is located in one of Durham's oldest residential neighborhoods, just a mile north of Durham's Downtown Entertainment District and a mile east of Duke University, with easy access to major highways.

The Inn has a long association with Durham Bulls Baseball, going back to the 1988 movie "Bull Durham." As a boarding house, it was the home of some of the cast and crew (an original script was found in the attic). The Manning House, just across the street, was the site used as Susan Sarandon's home in the movie. In 1992, Jim won the name-the-mascot contest, by naming Wool E. Bull. Most summer evenings you can find him at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park taking in a game.
