    Intimate Rooms -

    From $170 per night

    The Womack Room

Bright and sunny throughout the day, the Womack Room's heart-of-pine floors inspired a color palette of caramel, black, and matte gold. Flowing lines and opulent patterns found in textiles throughout the room reflect early 20th c. Viennese Design. Generous doors, a 19" high bed, a roll-in shower, an accessible sink, and audio & visual fire system make this room fully ADA compliant.

    The Woodard Room

With exceptional views of Duke's east campus, the Woodard Room's neutral accents in black, ivory, and taupe balance the intensity of its deep red walls. Textiles throughout the room feature similarly scaled yet contrasting patterns.

    The Howerton Room

The Howerton Room offers some of the best views of Duke's East Campus. Afternoon sun brings out the richness of its saturated color palette: deep olive walls, a burgundy and black leather headboard; crimson and cocoa suede upholstery, and bronze-toned silk.

    The Tyree Room

Calm and plush, the Tyree Room receives indirect northern light throughout the day. Elegant fabrics - silk, satin, velvet, and charmeuse - in a monochromatic palette, ranging from apricot to copper, reflect a softer touch. Baroque curves balance clean lines and warm woods complement burnished finishes. In addition to a full seating area, this room has a large walk-in closet that makes it ideal for longer stays.

Deluxe Rooms - From $200 per night

    The Moss Room

The unique configuration of the Moss Room - a separate entry bordered on one side by the dressing area and bath - creates a sense of formality and separation. The color palette subtly shifts from celadon to aquamarine, with ivory accents. A window above the bathtub brings in natural light all day long, illuminating details such as butterfly wing insets of black marble in the travertine floor tiles.

    The Watts Room

The Watts Room is spacious, formal, and ornate. Gilded finishes and warm woods throughout complement a verdant palette, from olive to celery to yellow. While indirect northern light gives this room a constant level of brightness, direct sunlight enters in the morning, accentuating the richness of its deep green walls.

    The Crews Room

Four windows make the Crews Room one our lightest and brightest, with views of Duke's East Campus and the canopy of our large magnolia tree. A rich palette - warm woods, honey-toned walls, cinnamon and cocoa accents -highlight the golden tones of the heart-of-pine floors. Fabrics include plush velvet and diamond-quilted silk.

    The Tomlinson Room

The crisply tailored Tomlinson Room relies on subtle contrasts of pattern, texture, and color - warm tans, deep browns, and black. Stylized bedside lamps and the textile headboard refer most overtly to 1920's style. A spacious walk-in closet and separate seating area make this room well-suited for longer visits.

    The Exum Room

Whenever Deanna's mother visits the Inn, she chooses the Exum Room. With lights on in the evening, sienna colored walls glow with warmth, making it the perfect haven for reading, writing, or retreating from the outside world. Tropical inspired textiles add touches of olive, rust, taupe, and bronze. A large walk-in closet and separate sitting area make this room perfect for longer visits.

    The Saunders Room

Bright and airy, the Saunders Room features ivories, caramels, and citrons. Golden southern light makes contrasting textures all the more distinct. This subtlety does not, however, preclude whimsical touches, such as a rabbit lamp with polka-dot shade. In addition to a comfortable club chair and ottoman in the bedroom, this room opens to a sun porch with separate seating area. Should you need to accommodate a larger party, connecting doors through the sun porch can join these rooms with the adjacent Trinity Suite.

Standard Suites - From $200 per night

    The Markham Suite

The Markham Suite practically vibrates with color and light. Cheerful chartreuse walls and an armless sofa create a playful air. Contrasting graphic patterns in black and white play off one another. Light reflecting from shiny surfaces - mirrored lamps, silver-leaf night tables, and lacquer-further animate this brightly colored room.

    The Lathrop - Morehead Suite

Clean, strong lines and refined neutrals - dove grey, warm tan, and black - characterize the Lathrop-Morehead Suite. Strongly rounded shapes appear throughout: a black leather headboard stitched with three large circles; half-round mirrored bedside tables; the curving backs and arms of sofa and club chair.

    The Parrish Suite

The Parrish Suite may be our most dramatic. At night, amethyst walls appear velvety; in the morning sun, they turn lilac. Light glints off reflective surfaces - shiny lacquers, mirrors, and silver leaf. Strong graphic patterns - wavy lines, intersecting circles, delicate fans - offset each other.

    The Rigsbee Suite

The Rigsbee Suite could have been the set for a 1920's Vogue photo shoot. Dove grey walls recede while black, white, and red accents pop. Strong graphic themes play out between rooms - oversized circles, black edging, and animal prints. Southern light keeps the Rigsbee Suite bright all day.

Deluxe Suites - From $260 per night

    The Austin Suite

Indirect northern light in the Austin Suite emphasizes the coolness of a dove grey, black, and ivory palette while making bursts of warm red all the more striking. Touches of Chinoiserie - landscape-inspired textiles, brocade pillows, and red lacquer night stands- remind us of the 1920's fascination with Eastern styles.

    The Farthing Suite

The spacious Farthing suite offers a calm retreat, with its cool, constant northern light and restrained neutrals - warm grey, black, and cream. Textiles feature contrasting patterns and textures - from lacy ferns, to diamond-quilted matelassé, to bold black and cream stripes. Mirrored surfaces catch the light.

    The Trinity Suite

The Trinity Suite is like sea glass: calm, cool, and tranquil. An essentially monochromatic palette subtly combines silks and velvets within the same aquamarine color range. The bath features an air-jetted tub, separate shower, and a marble vanity with double sinks. French doors open to a bright and airy sun porch that can be used for gathering, dining, and connecting to the adjacent Saunders room if so desired.
