Room OneOur guest rooms each have their own unique features. Period decoration and spaciousness grace all of our overnight rooms. They each have private baths, business desks, high speed internet, sitting areas, televisions, DVD players, and private telephones. Three rooms are enhanced with fireplaces, and three rooms open onto the spacious upper balcony. Very near the main house is our carriage house. It features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area, desk, living space and a dry bar. The two bedroom space can be rented overnight or used in conjunction with our outside grilling area for small parties. A hot full breakfast buffet, DVDs and sodas in the common room are all complimentary. Irons, hair dryers, and limited toiletries are also available. Prices quoted below are double occupancy rates. Single rooms are $25 less, and each additional person in any room is $25 more.
Room One The former Master Bedroom of the house, Room One is now the Honeymoon, VIP suite, and the one room that has everything in it. Across from the game room with icemaker, sunroom and sitting area, Room One has access to the balcony with small dining table and chairs, a fireplace, and three closets. The king size bed is covered with a paisley comforter in jewel tone colors. As all of the Greystone rooms, this room has a private bath, wireless internet, cable television, DVD players, a desk, and multiple closets. $200 Room Two The sitting area in Room Two is inviting with its table and chairs. Balcony access and a burgundy and sage colored King size bed decorate this comfortable room. As all of the Greystone rooms, this room has a private bath, wireless internet, cable television, DVD players and a desk. $175 Rooms Three and Four Shared by two Nicholson Daughters as they grew up here, rooms three and four are rented as a suite. With a King size bed, desk and tabled seating area, room three connects to the large seating spaces and desk of room number four. The couch in room four opens to double size and balcony access is also through room four. Both room 3 and room 4 have wireless internet, cable televisions, DVD players and desks. $200 Room Five A Ralph Lauren comforter of gold and red graces the queen size sleigh bed in room number 5. An antique fire-screen decorates the original fireplace. The private bathroom has an oversized shower with the original porcelain sink. Wireless internet, cable television, a DVD player and desk fill this spacious room also. $175 Room Six Room Six is the bedroom that Mrs. Stagg chose as her own when her daughter's family moved into Greystone. The room and Queen sized bed are decorated with soothing colors. Rose carvings in the mantel woodwork along with large amounts of daylight make this room special. As the rest of the rooms, Room Six has Wireless Internet, Cable Television, DVD player, and a private bathroom. (Photo of this room in the header). $175 Carriage House The separate Carriage House has a very different feeling than the main house. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchen, dining room, living space and dry bar. Guests of the carriage house can take advantage of the main floor of the Inn and also have breakfast at the main house, or choose to prepare their own in the kitchen. $275 Conferences With the warmth and graciousness of a private mansion, large gathering spaces on the first floor may be secured for off-sight business conferences, small meetings, intimate private parties, formal dinners, receptions and elegant corporate entertaining. Rooms on the first floor have sliding glass doors and easily accommodate a wide variety of uses and privacy needs. Wireless Internet, flip charts, overhead projectors, screens, and copying are also available to our business clients. Greystone is just two blocks off the Durham Expressway (NC147), two blocks from the American Tobacco Complex , and three blocks from Historic Brightleaf Square. We are just five minutes from Duke's campus, and ten minutes from the Research Triangle Park... using NC 147 South, you can be to RDU in fifteen minutes.
For our traveling clients, Greystone offers great privacy and convenience to just about any location in Durham. Elegantly appointed rooms inside the mansion and multiple outside spaces provide multiple options for relaxing, reading, working, eating or entertaining. Upstairs, the overnight accommodations are quite spacious. A scrumptious hot breakfast buffet is complimentary each morning and can be taken in one of several dining areas on the first floor. The dining room table will seat up to 22 people. Beverages, Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Snack are available in different packages for your meeting guests. Events One Hundred years old this year, Greystone has stong ties to the local history of the Durham and the Duke Families. The Inn is a unique, beautiful spot for many kinds of events. Versatility and Convenience are what make it so popular. Located just off the Durham Expressway (NC147) and only four miles from the Duke Campus, Greystone is just two blocks from the newly renovated American Tobacco Complex, Brightleaf Square, and downtown. We are ten minutes from the Research Triangle Park, and fifteen minutes from RDU Airport. This gracious, private mansion with its large gathering spaces on the first floor and grounds may be secured for luncheons, intimate dinners, a wine tasting, tea, celebrations, wedding ceremony, or receptions. The intimacy for overnight guests attending these functions just makes the event that much more special.
WeddingsGreystone got its start hosting weddings of all sizes. We have done both ceremonies and weddings here for about 12 years. Your family can stay together in the house for the weekend, have a rehearsal dinner and/or ceremony, and work with our preferred caterers to create the event of your dreams. Large or small, Greystone provides a unique southern backdrop for your special event.
