Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, High Hampton Inn has welcomed guests since 1922. Tucked away on 1,400 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Cashier's, North Carolina, the High Hampton Inn offers 120 guest rooms and suites in our main lodge and a selection of charming cottages - all within easy walking distance of dining, golf, tennis, the private 35-acre Hampton Lake, hiking trails and family and children's activity centers.
Reservations at this mountain estate may be made by the room, cottage or, for special events and gatherings, the estate may be reserved in its entirety. Rates are full American Plan, including three meals daily. All guest rooms and cottages have been completely refurbished and updated to carefully retain their mountain character.
The Dining Room
Meals are bountiful, Southern affairs making use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes that have been handed down over generations. Favorites such as High Hampton fried chicken, local rainbow trout, and herb-crusted roasted prime rib or New York strip steak are accompanied by locally grown vegetables and produce, and homemade breads.
For a sandwich, cold beer or ice cream treat, visit The Overlook, located next to the Pro Shop and Gift Shop. Café seating overlooking the lawn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a snack, sweets or lunch after a round of golf, tennis match or hike to the top of Chimney Top Mountain.
With an outdoor patio overlooking Rock Mountain, the Tavern is a fun and scenic place to meet fellow guests. Mixed drinks, beer and wine are served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and there is live music for your listening and dancing enjoyment. Attire is casual before 6:30 p.m. - coat and tie afterwards.
Wine and beer may be purchased in the dining room during the midday and evening meals. After dinner, special entertainment is offered nightly. These events - movies, games or other family activities - are posted daily on the bulletin board in the lobby.
A time-honored tradition at the High Hampton Inn, our afternoon tea celebrates the lost art of quality leisure time and conversation. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes and cookies are served in the lobby of the Inn every afternoon from 4 p.m. to 5p.m. This hour provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a relaxing social hour and to meet other guests as you gather around the fireplace or pull up a rocker on the front porch.
High Hampton Inn is a destination that celebrates nature and being outdoors. Our "swimming pool" is a 35-acre crystal clear mountain lake; hiking trails lead to the peaks of Rock and Chimney Top Mountain programs encourage everyone to take a swing at sports. The atmosphere encourages families and children to mix, mingle and play together, resulting in many families who make annual reservations at the same time every year.

Each of the 18 holes on this mountain course is a new scenic experience. Lined by towering pines, hemlocks and mountain laurel and surrounded by mountain peaks, all tees, fairways and greens are as beautiful as they are challenging. Designed by the late, eminent golf course architect, George W. Cobb, ASGCA, the course features bent grass greens and plays at 6,012 yards from the back tees. The par 3, 137-yard famed 8th "island" hole - upon which Golf Digest bestowed the title "One of America's Great Golf Holes" - is rivaled by 17 others, each one equally beautiful and equally challenging. In addition to the course, there are two putting greens and an excellent practice range. The tee area of the practice range is covered for protection from occasional rains. The High Hampton Golf Club is open to guests and residents. For tee times and availability, please contact the Pro Shop at (828) 743-2450.
Game, set, match! The High Hampton Inn runs daily adult and junior clinics, socials, match-play, and professional and top ranked junior exhibitions so there is always an opportunity to join in or get a pick-up game going. Or go for a one-one-one private lesson taught by any of our tennis pros.
Our 1,400-acre estate is the perfect place to host a gathering or meeting. Private cottages and homes accommodate family gatherings, golf or tennis getaways and small groups in privacy, while larger affairs of up to 350 people may reserve the estate exclusively.
Say "I Do" amidst the natural splendor of High Hampton's gracious estate. Ceremonies on the lawn overlooking the beautiful lake and Rock Mountain are a tradition at High Hampton. The Chef goes all out for the event, working with the wedding party to create everything from the rehearsal dinner to a magnificent reception as well as a custom-designed wedding cake. Golf tournaments for the groom and his groomsmen and spa treatments for the bride to be and her attendants are all handled on-site, adding to guests' convenience. And, honeymoons are a High Hampton specialty with our private and secluded Honeymoon Cottage overlooking a small lake.
High Hampton is a place where family traditions, values and quality time reign. Families return here year after year, with many third and even fourth generation High Hampton guests welcomed back with same back-to-nature, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere that their great grandparents first enjoyed. Cottages and Colony Homes are the perfect "home away from home" for families and family reunions. Outdoors, activities encourage together-time as well as time for parents to golf, play tennis or visit the spa while children are entertained and make new friends in our Kid's Camp.
Nestled high in the Western North Carolina resort town of Cashiers, High Hampton Inn offers groups the rare experience of escaping to a 1,400-acre mountain estate, complete with the rustic feel and outdoor emphasis of the legendary great camps of the Adirondacks. Here, groups are encouraged to "unplug" from urban trappings and high technology and get back to basics. That there are no telephones or television in the rooms is part of the appeal; the distractions at High Hampton Inn are more likely to take the form of a blazing mountain sunset, a blanket of prolific pink blooms bursting from thickets of hundred-year old mountain laurel, or a bonfire beneath the stars. From productive meetings to building relationships over a game of golf, tennis or a hike to the top of Chimney Top Mountain, or reaping the rewards of a day's work at the Inn's sumptuous spa, the emphasis here is on reconnecting, productivity and convenience.
