The Beacon House Inn is a reminder of days gone by this original 1950s Boarding House has been transformed into a spectacular North Carolina Beach bed and breakfast. We've updated it with modern day comforts, but we have left much of the original charm throughout. The walls are lined with vintage photographs and memorabilia, and our comfortable décor is meant to be enjoyed! We won't try to take you back in time, but rather remind you of when life was simpler with hopes that this will inspire a very relaxing stay at the Inn. Leave the frenzy behind, curl up on the couch, or relax on one of our three decks, while embracing the need to do nothing - or everything - it's really your choice! In addition to friendly, hospitable service, we offer full southern breakfasts, comfortable beds, quality linens, local discounts and private catering or Package Plans for your special events.Whether it's a romantic dinner, pig roast or group meal, we will design a package that fits your specific needs. Remember that in addition to our Carolina Beach lodging accommodations, we also offer Cottages and Multiple Building rental packages, making us a great choice for a family reunion, wedding or group gathering of any kind. Our on-site Innkeepers are happy to help you plan your stay and arrange any activities you might be interested in. Carolina Beach, one of North Carolina's best beaches, boasts 5 miles of pristine beach and is close enough to easily enjoy historic Wilmington, Fort Fisher, the North Carolina Aquarium, Southport and Bald Head Island. Although we are just across the street from the beach, we are surrounded by numerous other outdoor activities, including fishing, golf, sailing, surfing, kayaking and bird watching. We're in the heart of Carolina Beach, NC, just 7 blocks from the Boardwalk and center of town. We're 20 minutes from the Wilmington Airport and not far from others such as Myrtle Beach, Jacksonville, and Raleigh-Durham. Looking for a charming location for an intimate North Carolina Beach wedding? The Beacon House has everything you need to plan your big day. We will provide you with all the necessary information for getting married in or on Carolina Beach. We can help you locate decorations, party rentals, arrange for flowers, wedding planning services and even suggest catering for your rehearsal dinner and/or reception with our trusted vendor referral list. We can provide an intimate setting for you and your guests in our Inn and Cottages and even host small rehearsal dinners. Our Inn works especially well as a home base for bridal parties and families of the bride and groom. Our main Inn has 7 bedrooms with Queen beds, and a 2 and 3 bedroom cottages are each available (at an additional fee) for families with small children or pets. Our rooms range from a Whirlpool suite to a 2-BR Romance Suite, which provides some additional room for lengthier stays. You can rent any combination of buildings and choose packages that include a full southern breakfast, private dinners, or onsite catering that range from seafood extravaganzas to pig roasts!
We'll do whatever we can to make sure you have an effortless experience that exceeds your expectations! Our Inn is meant to be comfortable and relaxing; we invite you to bring family and friends and curl up on our couch or hang out on our verandas, and do nothing but visit and enjoy your stay on Pleasure Island!
Overnight Guests: We can accommodate 24-26 guests using the Inn and 2 cottages. The Inn itself can sleep 14-16.
Common Areas: The Inn has 2 front verandahs, which can be used for intimate dinners. The dining room can also accommodate smaller gatherings such as lunches and showers.
Costs: Room rates are as listed for specific dates and there will be an additional charge for any special service your group requires.
The Beach: We are across the road from the beach, you just have to walk out the front door, to the left and walk across the wooden "walk-over" to get your feet in the sand. Or you can sit on the front porch - with a little breeze the sand will come to you! Location: We are 20 minutes south of Wilmington located on Pleasure Island. Coming into Wilmington on either 40, 74/76, or 17 - one road leads to us! College Rd, turns into Carolina Beach Road, which brings you to Snow's Cut Bridge and right into Carolina Beach. Cooking: We provide all the linens and kitchen essentials in the Cottages, and guests are welcome to cook in any of them. However, cooking is not allowed in the Main house. We do have a full size refrigerator available for guest use.
We will provide a full, southern breakfast each morning for Inn guests, and can make arrangements for Cottage guests at an additional minimal charge. Other meals can be catered such as receptions, rehearsal dinners, or lunches
Weddings can be performed on the Beach with an independent minister/priest/etc…
We can host the wedding at the Inn using the front Main stairs.
A tent and chairs may be set up in the front parking pad to accommodate up to 30 guests.You do not have to be a North Carolina Resident to be married here, but you do need a license. It may be issued by the Register of Deeds office in any county in North Carolina. Once issued, the marriage license is valid for 60 days. There is no waiting period, physical exam, or blood test required.
In New Hanover County, Marriage License Applications are taken from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday at the Branch of Vital Records Department Office located at 24 N. Third St. which is in the basement of the restored Courthouse, Room 101. The phone number is 910-341-4538.
The fee for a marriage license is currently $50. Certified copies are $10 each. All three of the following forms of identification are required for both the Bride and Groom.
- Valid driver's license or DMV picture ID card
- Certified copy of birth certificate
- Valid Social Security card
- All applicants under 18 years of age must have parental consent.
- If you have been divorced in the last 60 days you should bring your divorce papers.
Kure Beach allows weddings on the Beach. However, no chairs or tents are permitted. Parking is scarce. If more information is needed, please call the police department at 910-458-7586.
Fort Fisher Historic Park has a gazebo on the ocean which is available for weddings. Please call 910-458-5538 for availability. A $100 donation is requested for the use of the Gazebo. A $25. deposit is needed for signs showing the Gazebo is closed to the Public for a private wedding. There is free parking at this location.
Fort Fisher State Park located next to the Aquarium is also a possibility. Once you pass the "rocks" at the Ft. Fisher Historic Park, you are on State Park land. To be married along this strip of beach, there is a $30 fee and you need to fill out a Special Activity form which is available at the State Park. Please call 910-458-5798 for more information.
