The Lion and The Rose Bed and Breakfast of Asheville, North Carolina is a restored Queen Anne situated in the Historic Montford Neighborhood amongst quiet tree-lined streets and gorgeous old homes. The bed and breakfast is tastefully decorated with period antiques, Persian rugs, and beautiful works of art throughout the home.
Each of the five guestrooms at the bed and breakfast features a private bath, complimentary wireless Internet access, and a television with a DVD player. Guests also have access to a 24-hour guest pantry and complimentary lighted off street parking. A delectable full gourmet breakfast is served each morning.
The Lion and The Rose is conveniently located within walking distance of the restaurants, shops, and galleries in downtown Asheville. The bed and breakfast is only three miles from the famed Biltmore Estate and Village and ten minutes from the hiking and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A visit to the 434-acre North Carolina Arboretum nearby is also highly recommended. Stroll through the 65 acres of cultivated gardens, explore the featured exhibits, or take advantage of the ten miles of hiking and biking trails.

Most of our guests are here on vacation or to celebrate a special occasion. Some are here on business, but prefer to stay in a more private setting. Travelers choose Asheville for: Biltmore Estate, a food, beer & wine destination; NC Arboretum, Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, fly fishing, white water rafting, rock climbing, vibrant, eclectic downtown, arts community, college town, gay friendly. They choose our inn for all of these reasons and because of our close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance of downtown Asheville & all of its restaurants, shops, & galleries, 3 miles from the Biltmore Estate, and 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and most other outdoor activities.

Beautiful architecture & gardens, great location, delicious & unique breakfasts, and reasonable rates. The inn is loaded with original art & antiques, has a lush landscape, is in a perfect location, and it is reasonably priced.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
It is a small city with a big mind situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
It looks much better live than the photos on the internet.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Asheville is the place for small independently owned restaurants & craft breweries.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
Visit Biltmore, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, Visit the NC Arboretum, take a trolley ride around town, take a ride on the LaZoom Comedy Bus, sign up for a food tour of area restaurants, take a hike in Dupont State Forest, and visit Chimney Rock Park, depending on the time of year: whitewater rafting, zip lining, tubing, fly fishing. Dine at as many of our excellent restaurants as possible. Visit the Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar, the Thomas Wolfe memorial, the Riverside Cemetery, Malaprops Bookstore, visit any one of the numerous music & dance or comedy clubs ...too much for 4 days.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Yes, downtown Asheville is less than a mile from our inn - an easy walk with sidewalks all the way. There you will find our best restaurants, art galleries, bars & wine stores, music venues, eclectic shops, and the unique vibe of a college and artist's town.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
Limones - California-Mexican cuisine. Unbelievable food and margaritas!

No, but Sparkey's is about two miles from our B&B.
Each morning, our sumptuous breakfast will surely be the highlight of your stay. Our resident chef/innkeeper, Jim, prides himself on serving fresh dishes that are a welcome change from the standard bed & breakfast fare. Jim also has experience preparing dishes for those with special dietary restrictions, so please let us know in advance of any restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate them.

- French-style omelets filled with a variety of ingredients
