Soak Up the Rich Culture of Asheville

In the Blue Ridge Mountains rests a friendly and relaxing bed and breakfast in a 130-year-old home with a wraparound front porch that looks out onto stately old hemlocks and a peaceful, award-winning garden.

Hill House Bed and Breakfast, Asheville, North Carolina is located in a quiet neighborhood just one mile from historic downtown Asheville exploring, shopping and dining. The Biltmore Estate with its famous gardens and winery are only three miles away from Hill House.

Take in breathtaking mountain views while on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, and drive north to Mt. Mitchell, the highest elevation in eastern North America.

Asheville takes pride in the rich arts culture that has developed over the years. Theater showcases, art galleries, and music events are definite must-sees. Even Hill House has its own galleries. Archive photos of downtown buildings, antique postcards, and Harpers Weekly Magazine articles from the 1880's on the first floor of the home, and the Hideaway Gallery Suite showcases the works of local artists.

  • Introduction

Asheville, North Carolina Bed and Breakfast InnHill House Bed & Breakfast Inn, of Asheville, North Carolina, is from a different time. A time when people relaxed and lingered, talked into the night, not into computers, slept amid trees and awakened to birds singing, savored long, hearty, friendly breakfasts, and played parlor games all afternoon.

Welcome to Hill House. It’s a place with one foot very much in the present and the other in a past we all cherish. Rooms that hint both of Grandma Knows and Guitar Nights. A huge, grassy lawn for play and an Appalachian garden for inspiration. Breakfasts with French-pressed coffee from Javataza, our signature fresh fruit juices, and eggs, cream, breads, cheeses, and who-knows-what surprises all served with a chef’s insights.Situated in the heart of the romantic, offbeat city of Asheville, the American Shangri-La, in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains.Hill House Gardens

  • Hill House Galleries

Hill House's galleries were inspired by its grand view of Downtown Asheville. In fact, you can see most of historic Asheville without leaving the Inn.

The first floor galleries display archive photos and antique postcards of Downtown architecture, and original Harpers Weekly Magazine articles from the 1880's, featuring stories and renderings of Asheville and the surrounding area.

Our second floor gallery follows the same theme, displaying the works of local artists.

Our church gallery resides in the sunlit stairway at the back of the house, showcasing black and white photos of Asheville's most famous churches, and architectural elements of Asheville's most famous landmarks.
