This grand Colonial Revival home is an architectural delight featuring such interesting accents as the original staircase with a "courting bench", ornate mantles, high ceilings and large outdoor porches. Throughout the Inn, you will find an interesting blend of eclectic furnishings and local artists' creations.

An Architectural Delight
The house itself is an architectural delight with some of the area's finest interior woodwork. The high ceilings, ornate mantles, and other architectural details, transport you back in time when life had an elegance and a relaxed quality seldom enjoyed today. The Inn is decorated with local art pieces chosen to enhance the wonderful architecture, not overpower it. You will find no doilies in this Award-winning Inn.
Beautiful Porches

The Chestnut Street Inn is located in close proximity to many of North Carolina's most wonderful attractions and activities. A 1/4-mile walk takes you downtown for antiquing, sightseeing, visiting art galleries, and fine dining. By car, the Biltmore Estate is 3 miles - the Blue Ridge Parkway, Folk Art Center, hiking trails, fishing, boating, shopping malls, etc. are all 15 minutes or less.
At the Chestnut Street Inn, a North Carolina Bed and Breakfast Inn, we eat with all of our senses. Breakfast is not a detour from your travels; it's a stop along the way. Although you'll find us in Asheville, NC, we find inspiration for our three-course breakfast menus from all corners of the United States.
Each time you visit as a guest of The Chestnut Street Inn your palate will be delighted by the new recipes & menus we regularly create to pamper you each morning with a Healthy but sinfully delicious twist to our Candle Light Southern Gourmet Breakfast. Each item served is homemade at The Chestnut Street Inn ~ you will find no boxed mixes here! While we offer an early coffee start at 7:30 a.m. with a rich, smooth, full bodied, fresh ground organic Sumatra Coffee, breakfast is more leisurely presented.


Many of our guests are here for Honeymoons, Anniversaries, Holiday or the much needed getaway to rest and relax, and do not want to rise too early. You may seat for breakfast any time between 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. for a full three course Gourmet Breakfast. We are happy to offer alternatives to our guests who are Vegan, Vegetarian, Lactose or Gluten Intolerant, or Diabetic. Please let use know when you make your reservation so we will be prepared for your special needs, including requests for Almond or Soy milk, Soy sausage, Turkey bacon, etc.Whether we are serving our famous Spinach or Hawaiian Omelets, our Vegetable or Three Cheese Frittata, Pancakes with Fresh Home Made Berry Sauce or Pumpkin Waffles with Orange Walnut Butter and Nutmeg Syrup or French Toast with home made Apple Chutney they are all proven crowd pleasers. Our menus consist of a medley of colors, aromas and flavors to please your senses as we start your 3-course Breakfast by serving you one of our many delicious home made breakfast breads, followed by a fresh fruit dish and then the main entree which is always accompanied by the highest quality breakfast meat. Each afternoon we present homemade cookies, outrageous brownies and desserts fresh from our kitchen for you to enjoy with a steaming cup of tea, soda or reverse-osmosis water while you sit and reflect on your afternoon of exploring all that Asheville has to offer!

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn? We are best known for "feeling like home" by all guests. The beauty of the woodwork, original courting bench and staircase makes our inn unique. I love the beauty and warmth you feel the moment you arrive.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Asheville offers everything anyone could possibly be looking for. Arts, antiques, boutiques, breweries. fabulous locally owned restaurants, hiking, biking, rafting, Biltmore Estate and too much more to even name.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? My guests feel pampered, but like they are at a favorite friend or relative's home. Total comfort.
What’s the best kept secret about the area? The beauty of Asheville is our best kept secret.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? All the above mentioned items. We are always more then happy to help them plan and let them know all the wonderful things Asheville has to offer.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn? Downtown Asheville is within walking distance so arts, crafts, antiques, theaters, boutiques, breweries. fabulous locally owned restaurants, biking, Grove Park Inn and much more are accessible.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area? I have many locally owned favorite restaurantss that I refer my guests to, but Limones is my favorite of favorites.

How many rooms does your inn have? We have 8 rooms.
Do you accept pets? We do not accept pets, but we do have a cat named "Pumpkin Pie" and he loves our guests. He helps to keep our guests company so they don’t miss their babies. He loves to talk to everyone.

Whether you are planning a romantic getaway or an exciting mountain adventure, we invite you to come and experience the same kind of relaxed and laid-back atmosphere that has made our city famous. The Inn is located within walking distance from downtown Asheville, just 2.5 miles from the famous Biltmore Estate, and is in close proximity to the wide variety of outdoor activities offered by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
From I-40 or I-26 take I-240 to Asheville.
Exit onto Charlotte Street (Exit 5B) and go north (away from downtown) two blocks, then turn left on East Chestnut Street. The Inn is located on your right two blocks down, on the corner of Washington Road and East Chestnut Street. Parking is in the rear.
