Each of Sourwood Inn's twelve guest rooms has a private balcony overlooking the Reems Creek Valley and a wood burning fireplace. The french doors which open onto the guest room balconies let in mountain breezes and, at night, the sounds of the woods. Rooms have either two doubles, a queen, or a king-sized bed. The baths for each of the guest rooms feature a separate tub and shower, and each has a great view of the mountains and the woods outside.
Sourwood Inn also features numerous common areas and a beautiful dining room to enjoy your breakfast or gourmet dinner.
Room 1 - Queen Bed Main Level
Room 1 located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood floors and cotton rugs. It is a staff and guest favorite due to the copious amount of natural light, comfortable ambiance and simple but thoughtful décor. The Matisse cut out print is definitely appreciated.
Room 2 - King Bed Main Level
Room 2 located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring and light colored cotton rugs which contrast nicely with the rooms rich warm hues of red and gold. There are two arm chairs and leather ottoman which create an inviting reading and fireplace gazing space. This spacious room has a king bed with many pillows.
Room 3 - King Bed Main Level
Room 3 located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring and corn blue cotton rugs. The spaciousness of the room is increased with the tall ceilings, light popcorn walls and the flood of natural light. There is a comfy over-sized chair that is always ready for a body and book. The Grant Wood print is a favorite.
Room 4 - Two Double Beds Main Level
Room 4 located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring. This is a spacious end room with four additional windows affording a delicious cross breeze in the warmer months. There are two comfy reading chairs. The Pierre Bonnard print “Boy Playing in the Sand” is one of the innkeeper’s favorite. This room easily accommodates a rollaway bed for an extra person.
Room 5 - Two Double Beds Upper Level
Room 5, located on the upper level of the inn is an end room. The five extra windows and extended views of the Reems Creek Valley below give this spacious room a “tree house” feel. This is a frequently requested room due to its quietness and restful décor. This room easily accommodates a rollaway be for an extra person. There is a nice print of Will Henry Steven’s, a featured artist of the Blue Spiral Gallery in downtown Asheville.
Room 6 - King Bed Upper Level
Room 6 is located on the upper level. This spacious room has a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Reems Creek Valley below. The smartly slipcovered reading chairs and ottoman beg to be occupied for long periods of the afternoon. The earth tones, plush comforter and natural subdued lighting encourage deep relaxation.
Room 7 - King Bed Upper Level
Room 7 is located on the upper level with one of the best views in the inn. One can watch the sunrise while lying in bed. There is copious amount of natural light during the day or one can enjoy the warm glow from the fireplace in the evening. The fresh flower vase in this room was made by Laura Vik, the innkeepers daughter, a potter in Charlottesville Va. The Tom Turner poster is a favorite of Nat’s.

Spend a romantic weekend in Room 10, our most sought after room. This spacious suite has its own separate sitting room with two comfy swivel chairs on either side of the wood-burning fireplace. The lush earth tones and fir wood trim temp you not to leave for your entire stay.

One of our most requested rooms for its natural light, bright colors and spacious layout. It also affords a special feeling of seclusion being that it is an end room reached by its own short hallway. The two vibrant Matisse prints further the good vibes felt while enjoying this space. A cushioned mission rocker accompanies a navy slip covered armchair perfect for fireplace philosophy or playing cards.
Sassafras Cabin is nestled in the woods nearby the main inn. Complete with a screened-in porch, the cabin has two full baths, a complete kitchen, and a bedroom loft with a queen size bed.
The living room is surrounded with windows and attached to a generous screened-in porch. A Jotul wood-burning stove keeps the cabin cozy in the winter.
The sofa in the living room opens to a double bed, making Sassafras available for up to 4 people.
