Apple Blossom Cottage
Apple Blossom Cottage is an 1840's cottage located on a retired three-acre apple orchard in Rhinebeck, New York. With terrific proximity to Rhinebeck Village, Fairgrounds and Aerodrome, as well as local museums, estates and colleges, Apple Blossom Cottage is a perfect rental for a couple or small family looking to get away and take in the scenic Hudson Valley at their own pace.
A delightful retreat, just moments away from the center of historic Rhinebeck village. Available year round for rent by the week, weekend or month the cottage makes for an ideal base for exploring the Hudson Valley, visiting the local colleges (or your kids who are already attending), or sampling what having a getaway house in Rhinebeck might be like. The cottage has just been renovated, and both tastefully and thoughtfully appointed to ensure a splendid stay.
Bedroom located upstairs. As this was always a simple modest structure, the ceilings are lower than conventional, and may not be appropriate for the very tall. In fact, everyone should mind their head. Outfitted with a queen-sized bed, satellite TV, and plenty of floor space to set up a crib, this is a gentle romantic escape of a room. Intended to sleep just two adults, provisions have been made to accommodate children on little foam beds with adorable custom linens that can be set up in the bedroom or living room.
Living Room is a lovely green inspired by the vintage curtains. Warm, buttery wood floors highlight this room. Spacious and pleasantly appointed with antiques and superior lighting makes this a delightful room to be in. Large TV w/DVD, separate stereo and electric fireplace for year-round use. Though the cottage is over 150 years in age, it is outfitted with contemporary features such as wireless high speed internet and cordless phone.
Kitchen has a bit of a 1940's feel with original apple and grape crate labels from that era. The Kitchen is outfitted with everything you need utensils, glassware, kitchen gadgets and accoutrements so that you may cook with ease. Table does open to accommodate 6+. Vintage highchair on site to seat a little one. Upon your arrival there will be juice, milk, eggs, coffee, bread, fruit, cereal, sausage and yogurt so that you may prepare breakfast on your schedule. (Dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, pots, pans, dishes, bowls, glasses etc. provided).
The half bath upstairs is convenient to the bedroom. Full bath is located downstairs and has a claw foot tub/shower, lovely pedestal sink, fine toiletries, plush towels and robes are all provided. A stackable washer/dryer is onsite and available for guest use, particularly handy for small families and extended stays.
Located on three acres of retired apple orchards there is ample space to wander up the mowed path through the orchards and have a picnic and catch the sunset over the Catskills. Please note: poison ivy and apple trees go together, use caution and dress appropriately, insect spray is provided at the cottage and its use is strongly encouraged to fend off deer ticks a carrier of lyme disease. I mention these items, not to alarm, but rather to educate.
