Visit this stunning 1818 Greek revival mansion where elegance meets comfort. This lovely old home has been restored to display its original charm and elegance and retains original moldings, interior window shutters, a tin ceiling and five fireplaces. Located on the Erie Canal, only 12 miles from Syracuse in Central New York, River Edge Mansion, also known as the Schroeppel Homestead, was the home to the first school room in the area and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Three beautifully appointed guestrooms are adorned with antique furniture and oriental rugs. In the Oneida River and Seneca River rooms you will find very comfortable king size beds with fluffy down alternative comforters and soft cotton sheets. Dreamy double sized whirlpool tubs in these rooms will take you away from it all. If you choose the one of these rooms a coffee tray just outside your door will brighten your early morning. The Oswego River room provides cozy comfort with an antique queen bed and large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower. Amenities, such as flat panel TVs with VCR and DVD players, blow dryers, shampoos, shower gels and lotions are provided to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. A nice selection of books, magazines and videos is available for your use. The mansion has central air-conditioning and fireplaces offer cozy warmth. A microwave, refrigerator and Kuerig coffee maker allow you to feel right at home. A complimentary glass of wine, coffee or tea and a desert or cracker and cheese platter is offered upon arrival.
Free wireless internet and phone service is available throughout the B&B. Private docking on the Oneida River portion of the Erie Canal offers water and electricity. Dock your boat and join us for breakfast and dinner! Ask us about an intimate riverboat dinner cruise aboard the Ella C right from our dock on the canal.
Well mannered guest dogs are welcome at no extra charge. Tessa, our friendly B&B golden retriever in training, loves both human and canine guests.

We are best known for our ambiance and hospitality. The character of our 1818 Greek Revival Mansion makes our B&B unique. We love the setting at the edge of the river and grounds, gardens and porches best.

Yes, we allow dogs. Also, Ann Margarete's Kennel is within a 1/4 mile of the B&B.
Breakfast at the mansion is served in our elegant, cherry ceiling dining room, next to a cozy, hand carved mahogany fireplace, and consists of three courses: fresh baked homemade muffins, a seasonal fruit dish, and a hot entree. Freshly brewed coffee and a selection of juices and teas complement the meal. This is graciously served on place settings of fine china, silver, and crystal in an intimate candlelight setting. Special diets are no problem as long as you tell us in advance. A full or continental breakfast is served to those holding fort in the conference room for that morning meeting.

There are some great attractions in our area. If you like shopping, we are 2 minutes from the Great Northern Mall and 12 minutes from Carousel Center Mall. There are also many antique stores in the area. If you like boating, fishing, or swimming, we have a private dock on the Oneida River with access to Oneida Lake, the Finger Lakes, and Lake Ontario. For bike and snowmobile fans, we are 4 miles from the Oswego County trail system with over one hundred miles of trails! We are just 15 minutes from downtown Syracuse with museums, shows, the Burnet Park Zoo, many fine restaurants, and Syracuse University. We are also within a short drive from several state and county parks, the New York State Fairgrounds, and dozens of wineries.
