Welcome to Captain Schoonmaker's Bed & Breakfast!Situated beside a rushing mountain trout stream & waterfall, this historic inn is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley between New Paltz and Kingston at the base of Mohonk Mountain and minutes from the Catskill Mountains and Woodstock. Our Inn's namesake was a Revolutionary War hero who built the Stone House in 1760. Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley between the Catskill and Shawangunk Mountains, Captain Schoonmaker's is the perfect getaway for romance or relaxation. Air-Conditioners ~ An Antique filled Romantic B & BWe are situated on 10 landscaped and wooded acres, with two seasonal waterfalls and the remains of a stone grist mill. Depending on the season guests are welcome to sit by a cozy fire, fish in our trout stream, take a dip under the seasonal waterfall or just relax in the hammock....The choice is yours.
Our Candlelit Country Gourmet breakfast is served on Antique China (a different service each day) in one of our dining rooms by an original Wood Burning Fireplace. We use local produce, farm products, Eggs from our own hens, homegrown herbs and vegetables whenever possible. Your Breakfast may include delicacies such as: Pumpkin Pancakes w/ Cranberry Butter, Apple Cheddar Quiche, Homemade Cinnamon Buns, Homemade Granola, Stuffed French toast, or Individual Brie & Herb Soufflé using our own Farm Fresh Eggs, as well as Home Baked Scones, Breads or Muffins, fruit juice, fresh fruits, sausage, ham or bacon, fresh ground coffee and teas. (Private dining at Breakfast may be available, please ask in advance).Feel free to wander through the 1760 Stone House and enjoy Judy's Antique Collections! Many items are for sale! Relax by the Wood Burning Stove in our solarium, which is available for use as a common room by our guests, with Cable TV/ VCR player with movie library and guest telephone. Sip Iced Tea on the deck or your balcony in spring & summer or hot cider by the fire in winter and fall.

From The South: New York Thruway (Route 87). Exit 18 (New Paltz). Left after toll booth on to Route 299. Go through Town of New Paltz. Right on 32 North. Continue approximately 7-1/2 miles, make left on Route 213 West (after second bridge). Continue through Rosendale (approximately 2-1/2 miles from 32). We are located on the left at the corner of Mossy Brook Road, one mile before the Town of High Falls.
From The North: NY State Thruway to Exit 19 (Kingston)Go Around Traffic Circle to Route 209 South (Toward Ellenville) Go about 11 miles. Make a Left turn onto Route 213 East at the Traffic Light.. This is just after the village of Stone Ridge. We are about 3 miles from this point on the Right as you come down the hill.Corner of Mossy Brook Road. About 1 mile after the village of High Falls.
