    Enjoy the beauty and romance of the scenic Hudson River Valley and Catskill Mountain region on this historic estate. Originally built by William Vanderbilt in 1889, the Greenville Arms 1889 Inn has been welcoming guests since 1952. The 6-acre estate, located in the quaint village of Greenville, offers year-round natural beauty with its lush lawns, charming creek, and carefully landscaped gardens.

    Each of the Greenville Arms 1889 Inn fifteen bedrooms is thoughtfully decorated with your comfort in mind, using a combination of well-loved antiques and modern comfort. Many of the rooms feature original paintings by professional artists or the textile art of Kim LaPolla, one of the innkeepers. All bedrooms have private baths, air-conditioning, and mini-refrigerators. Some rooms feature balconies, fireplaces, or whirlpool tubs. Guests begin their morning with breakfast from a full menu, including daily specials such as blueberry pancakes, omelets, French toast, or homemade granola. An afternoon tea features a tempting assortment of cookies and other treats.

     

    Greenville Arms 1889 Inn is perfect for romantic getaways, solo retreats, or active vacations. Relaxing by the 50’ outdoor pool is a favorite summer pastime. The near by area offers a number of fine or casual dining destinations. Area activities and attractions include golfing, hiking, biking, antiquing, horseback riding,  and much, much, more. The Inn is only about 30 minutes away from the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York, a venue for concerts, sports events, family events and more.

    The inn is also home to Hudson River Valley Art Workshops, offering workshops with top professional art instructors who teach oil painting, watercolor painting, pastels, acrylics, mixed media collage, or drawing. Hudson River Valley Art Workshops also hosts a series of art quilt workshops with nationally recognized instructors. Students who enroll in a workshop enjoy the hospitality of the inn, including lodging, breakfast, a 3-course dinner, and 24 hour access to the art studio.

    We now have an on-site gourmet chocolate shop - Life By Chocolates. All of the chocolates are made right here at the inn. We feature exotic chocolate bars, truffles, caramels, bark, and a lot more. We use natural, local, or organic ingredients. We also have a line of completely vegan chocolates.
