  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Cheryl VonBuren for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

We are just opening, but we hope to target travelers wanting to enjoy a peaceful retreat where they can unwind and rejuvenate, but also enjoy all our area has to offer.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for the peace and quiet here. Our B&B is unique in that we are secluded in the woods on 55 acres in the hills, yet we are close to so many attractions. My favorite things to do are sit on the wrap-around porch listening to the wind and birds sing, and enjoy starry nights unhindered by city lights.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Number 1 reason to come visit would be we are in the beautiful hills of the Western Fingerlakes region with a wide variety of things to do and see.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

We've had many people compliment us by saying we did such a nice job restoring the house, yet we built our Victorian style home in 2005.  That is what we wanted to achieve, for the house to look like it has a history and has always been here.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

Best kept secret would be our Town of Conesus may seem small and not as well known, but is in the heart of the Western Fingerlakes region.  Also, our B&B can only be seen from the road when the leaves fall.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Explore the area's breathtaking rolling hills; enjoy the beauty of Letchworth State Park - the Grand Canyon of the East; hike the trails and gorge of Stoneybrook State Park; play golf; visit wineries, antique shops and gift shops, the Airplane Museum in Geneseo, and historical sites; swim in or take out a boat on Conesus Lake, listen to live music at local restaurants, parks and wineries; and stop at one of the many area festivals.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

There is nothing in walking distance at this time, but we look forward to a new winery just down our road in the near future.  We are 10-20 minutes from many attractions.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Hard to pick just one favorite restaurant.  Among many I love are North Shore Grill on Conesus Lake in Lakeville, and Ember Wood Fire Grill in Livonia.
