Nature Lovers Dream With Old World Ambience
The Bobcat Inn, a Santa Fe bed and breakfast, was originally an old hacienda that has been authentically renovated to preserve its original integrity. It includes a beautiful courtyard and koi pond; it is pueblo-style adobe. Located in the foothills 7.5 miles southeast of Santa Fe, we can be your choice for lodging in New Mexico.
Our Santa Fe, New Mexico bed and breakfast is nestled on 10 acres of forested land with views of the mesa for miles and miles. In the summer, weather permitting, we serve breakfast on our portal. We also serve a high tea in the summer on Saturdays by reservation.
Breakfast in the winter is served in our great room, which is decorated with Native American and Mexican pottery, warm plastered walls with wonderful artwork, mission-style furniture, and a large fireplace to warm yourself.
We are a family-owned bed and breakfast that is small and unique to Santa Fe, NM. While being in a rural setting, you are still only 15 minutes to the historic Plaza. This gives you the best of both worlds. The owners, John and Amy Bobrick, love to make your stay at The Bobcat Inn a very special, memorable event and a wonderful alternative to a hotel. John continues to work as a chef in Santa Fe and helps at the b&b too. Amy was a caterer in Santa Fe for eleven years and also owned two restaurants. A full breakfast is served each morning and includes a hot gourmet entree, seasonal fresh fruit, homemade pastries, granola, yogurt, fresh-brewed coffee from our local roaster, a good selection of teas, and fruit juice.
All guests have 24-hour access to our breakfast / great room where complimentary homemade chocolate chip cookies, nuts, and tea are available. Coffee is always available in the morning or in your room at all times. We also provide useful visitor information such as maps, guidebooks, restaurant menus, and current event listings. There is free wireless Internet available, and you are welcome to use our guest computer. We also have a guest refrigerator located in our gift shop which is accessible 24 hours a day. For your enjoyment we have a membership to El Gancho which has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.
Choose Santa Fe accommodations at The Bobcat Inn, and you'll soon discover that one of the highlights of staying here is our breakfast. All of our guests always comment and ask for recipes for different specialty dishes.
We use fresh local ingredients whenever possible. One of our dishes, the Spinach Portabella Fritatta, was featured on Project Foodie. Our Blueberry and Coconut Macaroon Bread Pudding with warm apricot sauce is to die for. We always serve fresh fruit, granola, Kashii lean cereal, and low-fat vanilla yogurt. For the Southwest lover, we serve cheese enchiladas with a mild green chile sauce that is blended with spinach. Poached eggs and salsa are served with the enchiladas. It is always a surprise to see what the hot entrée is each morning for breakfast. We serve strong Sumatra coffee from our local roaster, Ohori’s. There is also a nice selection of teas.
Room Rates are valid for up to a double occupancy. There is a $20.00 per person per night charge for each additional guest in the room.
Green Gardening
One of my favorite hobbies is green gardening. In New Mexico, it is very important to conserve water. There are many drought-tolerant plants that grow in the high desert. Xero scaping is very popular and involves choosing plants that can tolerate the cold in the winter, rocky soil that has to be naturally enriched, and recycled gray water.
We start working on our garden each year in May around Mother’s Day by adding organic corn meal and molasses to the soil. The freeze date is May 15. After that, we are ready to plant. We have a gray water system and so we reuse our water. This means when you take a shower it goes into our garden! Many of the perennials will come back and only have to be cut back once a year. Russian Sage, Yarrow, Jupiter Beard, and Yellow Broom Stick are a few of my favorite perennials. We also love color, and cosmos and petunias provide the Easter egg effect.

During your stay at The Bobcat Inn, you'll have an opportunity to experience many of the wonderful things to do in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Santa Fe is host to a variety of different activities from world-renowned dining to outdoor adventures like hiking, fishing, and birding to being the "Art Mecca" of the Southwest.
Below is a list of some of our favorite attractions in the "city different."
Restaurants: Santa Fe is known for having unique restaurants of all different cuisines. Below is a list of some of Amy's favorites.
» Maria's New Mexican Kitchen: A local hangout known for its Chile Rellenos, Blue Corn Chicken Enchiladas, and of course, their grand gold margaritas.
» The Steaksmith at El Gancho: Being so close to the Inn, this is a real treat. Whether you just want to hang out in the bar and enjoy their spinach cheese balls or dine next to the fire in the restaurant, the Steaksmith is an excellent choice. Steaksmith offers delightful seafood choices as well as premium steaks.
» The Bobcat Bite Cafe: Located right next door to the Inn and known for their green chile cheese burgers. They are a landmark in Santa Fe and have been in business since the 1950s. We are not affiliated with the Bite, other than eating there a lot! They were recently filmed on Hamburgers America. They are only open Wed. through Sat. and close at 7:50 PM.
» Santacafe: My favorite fine dining restaurant. Their calamari, spring rolls, and shrimp dumplings are to die for! The presentation and service is always wonderful.
» Andiamo: Great little Italian Bistro downtown.
» O'Keeffe Cafe: Tasty sandwiches, soups, gourmet luncheon entrees - located right next to the museum.
» Harry's Roadhouse: Conveniently located to the Inn. Great family funky atmosphere with good prices and a wonderful outdoor patio. Order their turkey enchiladas and save room for dessert.

Bars:
» The Dragon Room at The Pink Adobe Restaurant
» Vanessie's Piano Bar
» The LaFonda Hotel Bar
» The Steaksmith Lounge

» Palace of the Governors: Oldest government capital building in the country. The Native Americans sit under the portal outside and sell their crafts and art. This is a good place to buy turquoise jewelry and pottery, etc.

Other Activities:
» Golf is also very popular in Santa Fe. Check out the many golf courses in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas.» White Water Rafting along the Rio Grande is fun for the outdoor enthusiast. The guides take people on different adventures depending on their experience. Should be a great year as the snow pack begins to melt!
» Casinos are close by for those who are feeling lucky.
» Taos, New Mexico is a nice day trip option. The High Road takes you through sleepy villages that have preserved their culture. There are places to stop along the way for photography, shopping, or dining. The famous church and Ortegas Weaving Gallery are located in Chimayo on the High Road. Once you have reached Taos, visit the Taos Pueblo and the Rio Grande Gorge.
» Madrid, New Mexico is located on the Turquoise Trail (hwy 14) This old mining town is about 40 minutes from the B&B. There are more shops and restaurants here. The Mine Shaft Restaurant and Bar is a very good people-watching place, usually with entertainment.
