The Raritan Inn at Middle Valley

The Raritan Inn is an upscale bed and breakfast in Califon, New Jersey. We are located on twenty-four rolling acres on the banks of the South Branch of the Raritan River. The Inn has five guest rooms, each with private bath and spa shower, satellite TV, wireless internet and four rooms have a parlor stove.

The Inn is consciously committed to an "eco-friendly" experience. Our objective is to minimize energy consumption while generating power from natural sources. In fact, the innkeeper's cottage is a Civil War vintage house that operates as a residential power plant.

All five of our guest rooms include: Three-course sumptuous breakfast, Continental breakfast "to go" if prior arrangements are made, Afternoon refreshments served between 3 and 5 p.m., 600-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, Remote-controlled gas-powered parlor stove (except Somerset), Pillowtop queen size beds (Somerset - double), Wireless high-speed internet, Full-body shower spray with sitting bench (Warren, includes a spa tub and full shower), Central air-conditioning throughout the building, Telephone with individual guest answering services, Quiet ceiling fans, Weekly delivery of New York Times and local newspapers, Satellite television, Hairdryer in each room.

Our Breakfast Policy is to provide our guests with a different breakfast menu every day of their stay - no matter how long they stay! Breakfasts include: fresh fruit, juice, tea or coffee, bread, rolls, biscuits, or muffins. Entrées include: Orange-infused French toast, Lemon soufflé pancakes, French omelets, Sausage-egg-cheese casserole, and Eggs Benedict. All entrees include apple wood smoked bacon, sausage patties or links, or ham.

Our fully-restored 1880's barn is available for groups to hold functions of any kind. The barn can accommodate up to 100 guests, depending on the type of event and table layout.

Our property is the perfect venue for a wide range of events, ranging from the business-friendly conference room to the historic barn, to our charming dining room. Guests have also made use of our entire property to host larger events such as wedding receptions and weekend family gatherings.
Some recent events at our Inn have included a day-long corporate planning session coupled with a end-of-day guided fishing excursion on the Raritan River and a bridal shower English tea party. Our Innkeeper is experienced in coordinating a wide range of special events, and is able to customize our facilities to your needs.
