Home Hill Country Inn - Plainfield, New Hampshire

Bathed in light, Home Hill's dining room, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling French doors, is awash in country reds and yellows. Elegant furnishings and custom-designed chandeliers create an elegant atmosphere, and the working fireplace creates a cozy dining experience. Home Hill has partnered with local producers to feature the best of local, seasonal eating. We create our own breads, sausages, cured salmon, and mozzarella cheese, hand made pastas, ice creams and much more in house daily.

Our cuisine represents the best of the bounty of our area presented with roots in traditional bistro style. Our menu changes with the seasons and what is best now. Special diets and requests are welcome with notice. Dinner is served Wednesday through Sunday from 5 until 9 pm. Brunch is served Sundays from 10 am until 2 pm.

Built in 1818, Home Hill is an idyllic, country retreat located in historic Plainfield, New Hampshire. Remarkably, there have been few owners of the land where Home Hill now stands. The pre-revolutionary home built on land granted to Thomas Gallup by King George III in 1763 burned to the ground and was rebuilt by a Gallup ancestor in 1818. Today, the home has been graciously restored to aid in exploring the Upper Valley in a comfortable atmosphere. With 11 elegant guest rooms and a country breakfast to raise your spirit from a peaceful slumber, our inn surely is a home away from home.

All guest rooms feature private bath and most offer the warming glow of a fireplace. Several guest rooms in The Carriage House also have private terraces and entryways.

Each of the Inn's beautifully appointed guest rooms is decorated to reflect the beauty and colors of the countryside and accented with American antiques and art. Baths of tile and marble feature luxurious bath products and sumptuous Frette bathrobes and towels.
