Local produce is back again 13 Jun 2014, 7:59 am
After a bitterly cold winter we are so happy to have our gardens in bloom and be able to get our local produce that we love so much. Chef MacKenzie sources our local farm, Springledge Farm, for their micro greens, mesclun mix, cucumbers fresh herbs and tomatoes as they come into season. In our own organic hydroponic tower garden we have dill, arugula, basil, thyme, swiss chard and parsely coming along well. Chef loves the nice fresh flavors of the lettuce mixes and the softness of the greens. Restaurant salads, soups and garnishes will feature these wonderful greens and vegetables all summer long.

Events and winter preparations at the Inn 1 Nov 2013, 11:23 am
Although our business slows during the week in November, there is no lack of things to do around the inn. Just picking up all the fallen leaves and apples is an immense undertaking. We begin doing some deep cleaning and other little maintenace projects to keep the inn in top form. We begin to think about making all those gingerbread houses that will be scattered through the inn over December. Our staff loves transforming the inn for the holidays into a twinkling winter getaway.
This year we are hosting our 6th annual Psychic Medium Spiritual Weekend over Veteran’s Day Weekend. There are different event to please all types and it is a fascinating weekend. We have all the information on our site or simply call the inn and speak to our front desk about coming to an event.
Our winter getaway rates are in full swing and give you a discount off our standard rates if you stay two or more nights. The ski mountains are preparing for another great ski season and we have posted our ski and stay rates on our website. Ragged Mountain Resort has added a new tubing park which is sure to be great fun.
Stay tuned for Chef MacKenzie’s New Year’s Eve menu. It will be posted on here in the near future. We hope you can get away to our Sunapee Region at some point this winter.
Bicycling & Inn to Inn Bicycle Tours in the NH Lakes Region 18 Jul 2013, 2:01 pm
There are 36 miles of biking on the Northern Rail Trail, which has a flat, hard stone dust surface well suited for hybrid bikes. Open views across wetlands, lakes and rivers alternate with corridors of pine and oak, old mill sites and granite cuts blasted by the Northern Railroad. In between, there are stores with refreshments and swimming spots.
Bicycle rentals are available up in New London or you can bring your own. Access to the Northern Rail trail is easy at Historic Potter Place former train depot (a ten minute drive from The Inn at Pleasant Lake). There is a large parking nearby.
If an inn to inn bicycle tour is what you are looking for you will find information at this website with contact information and ideas. Stay at The Inn at Pleasant Lake and continue on across the area to a choice of inns. Inn to Inn Bicycle Tours
