  • Introduction

D.W.'s Oceanside Inn, Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, frontWhen we bought the Oceanside Inn in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, we had some pretty far out dreams! Our dream was to transform this remarkable ocean front site into something unique; a place where guests could thrill to the rich sound and smell of the Atlantic, luxuriously ensconced in a room that evoked beauty and elegance from a century ago.

"The Oceanside is a total escape to another world. It's a world we dream about the other fifty weeks in the year." Oceanside Inn Guest

Nine gloriously furnished rooms, each an authentic re-creation of the very finest in nineteenth century accommodations. The exquisite decor includes stately four poster beds, period writing desks, hand screened wallpapers, and original last-century paintings. All displayed with the impeccable good taste demanded by people of station.

Of course, we haven't totally abandoned the present century. Which is why the Oceanside boasts such welcome amenities as luxurious private baths, twice daily maid service, and an expanded continental breakfast that includes homebaked breads and delicious fresh fruits.

"New friends -- idyllic sunny days. Hospitality as in days of yore. A step backward into time, each moment treasured at your Hampton shore." Clark, NJ

  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Duane and Deb Windemiller for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Our guests come because they enjoy the ocean and/or beach. They like to look at it, walk along it or relax on a beach chair on the sand.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for keeping an "immaculate" Inn which is one of the reasons we get many repeat guests. What we enjoy most about our Inn is the friendly & appreciative guests we get to see year after year and getting to know any new ones that decide to try this area.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

The #1 reason to visit is our beautiful, wide, sandy beach with panoramic ocean views.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

That we are a "hidden gem" in our busy summer tourist area and our guests come back more to see us & stay at our Inn than any other reason.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

There are so many guidebooks & directories to our area that I can't think of any "best kept secrets".

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Walk along the boardwalk both north & south to enjoy the beach & ocean. Enjoy the free entertainment every evening in our new oceanfront outdoor pavilion. Drive north along the coastline to the harbor front city of Portsmouth, NH & visit the boutique shops there along with many fine dining restaurants. Check for a live concert at the Club Casino in the center beach area or The Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury Beach, MA or the Ogunquit Playhause in Ogunquit, ME.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

Walk directly across the street to the sandy beach. Walk about 2 blocks south to the summer tourist shops & all activities. Walk to Ron's Landing restaurant which is just 3 buildings north of us.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We recommend Ron's Landing within walking distance. Savory Square Bistro, 401 Tavern & Galley Hatch restaurants are in downtown Hampton. Many fine dining restaurants in Portsmouth, NH.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

    www.hamptonbeach.org

    www.seacoastonline.com

How many rooms does your inn have?

    9 rooms that we rent

    Do you accept pets?

Sorry, no pets. There is a kennel in town but I don't think anyone has ever come here expecting to bring a pet. They would more likely choose a motel where they could keep their pet with them.
