    New owners have recently undertaken a complete refurbishing from top to bottom. While the classic antiques are reminiscent of the 1800s, the amenities are anything but centuries old. The tech-savvy owners here share iPads, Mac and PC computers and printers and iPod docking stations with their guests. Available for complimentary use, these tech toys are complimented by free wi-fi, flat screen TV/DVDs and eco-friendly fireplaces in each room. Most guest rooms offer deep double whirlpool tubs or large showers with rainfall shower heads. All new bedding and décor mean that you can look forward to one of the best night sleep you’ve had in a long time.

    Just because we know that no day starts without a steaming cuppa Joe, your breakfast experience will begin early when coffee and tea are set on the buffet starting at 7:00 am. We encourage you to help yourself. Next, anytime between 8:00-9:30am, join us in the welcoming dining room for a hearty and healthy breakfast. Tables for two and four are situated so guests can choose to either be private and alone or mingle and meet other guests.

    Story Land - is the children's theme park where fantasy lives! Story Land opens for its 50th Anniversary season in 2004 on Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-31, and then is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only through Father's Day, June 20, from 9am-5pm.... We are open 9am-6pm on a daily basis from June 21 through Labor Day, September 6. After Labor Day we are open Saturdays & Sundays only, plus Columbus Day (our final day of the season), from 9am to 5pm.

    Canoeing, Kayaking and Tubing - The Saco River meanders it's way through the Mount Washington Valley on it's way to the Atlantic Ocean. It provides a generally calm and friendly environment great for the entire family. If you are looking for some Spring excitement - during the snow melts and spring rain you can access the Saco River right from your back door.

    Mountain Biking - Enjoy the beautiful White Mountains off the beaten path. Mountain Biking is a great sport and the Mount Washington Valley is a fun and beautiful place to ride. Check out some local places to ride, links to maps and rentals.

    From Boston, Massachusetts
    Take I-95 North to Portsmouth, NH Vicinity
    As you approach Portsmouth, move into the far left passing lane and Exit I-95 onto the Spaulding Turnpike. The exit sign will read, "White Mountains, Spaulding Turnpike and Rtes. 4 & 16". Do NOT pass this exit, or you will soon reach Maine.
    Take the Spaulding Turnpike and after passing the second toll plaza (about 12 miles), Route 4 will end, and you will be on Route 16. Stay on 16 (approximately one and a half hours' drive) until you reach Glen Junction intersection, 5 miles north of North Conway. Landmarks are Grants Supermarket, and NH State Liquor Store.
    Continue on Rt. 302 heading west for another 1.2 miles. The Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast will be on your right, one mile before Attitash Ski Area.
    From Portland, Maine

    Take HWY 302 heading west for 70 miles to Glen, NH
    The Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast is on your right, 1.2 miles after the Glen Junction intersection, 5 miles north of North Conway. Landmarks are Grants Supermarket, the NH State Liquor store.
